- - - Skyling was a gift to his parents, a part of the sky given form to walk the earth as a child of parents of storm and wind. A being of immortal magic in mortal scales. The sky looked down upon the earth; no part of it itself could touch, the god Atlas would not permit it. So it sent down a part of it to be born in a dragon egg, to interact with the mortals it watched over as one of them.

- - - Skyling is a mischievous child, his laugh always ringing through the air. Even in the Zephyr Steppes, he was flying before his brother, leaping into the sky like he was diving into a hug from his mother. The winds of the gentle plains are the friendliest in the world but they curl around Skyling like he's one of them, ruffle his feathers and stroke his head like a beloved child of theirs. His parents clue in quickly that his magic is more than normal. It takes a while longer before they realize that his body doesn't grow past a toddler because of it.
