Clan Progenitor --- Formerly named Eggplant.
" Look around you. The land we stand on is one of dualities and opposites, and to survive here, I am afraid we will have to be equal parts cruel and kind. "

____The only thing that has not changed in her is the ferocity of her electric eyes. Ever since her conception in the Shifting Expanse, Neptune has sought for more than what those expected her to be. She was a reader of constellations, a speaker to the wind, and a warrior born from thunder. In the middle of her revelations she came into the company of her blank tablet, a Tundra with no name and no future. But together they would create one. The two of them would become partners through the worst of trials to be had in the expanse, eventually gaining the fellowship of other dragons who sought their mysticism as a philosophy rather than witchcraft. The very way Neptune speaks sounds of a folk soothsayer, but her voice is of the concern of a mother-- a clan mother. She lead her small clan away from the prying eyes of the businessmen and diehard engineers of the expanse. The moment her claws met with the bleached grass of the Sunbeam ruins, she could see the future of a prosperous clan unfold in front of her. When she glanced at her mate, she could tell Vander saw the same. In the ruins of an old temple did she build a lair with her own claws. Her and her small clan put walls against the pillars where they had once fallen, and domesticity where the wild had overgrown. In the years it would take for the lair to grow, clan members came and went, and she saw each one to come or leave with a smile. Those with the same spark in their souls as she had were always the ones that stayed. Her studies in the wisdom of the Lightweaver astounded her, and there was a night that gave her a revelation. She, a lightning dragon, saw through a seer's basin her own soul go to the Beacon of the Radiant eye. She saw the Lightweaver leer over her and teach her a spell. One that only a Light dragon could conjure. Nay, not a powerful spell, but it was a gift from her teacher who was proud to have acquired a perfect acolight. The spell was to fortify an object to be immune to all peril. Although Vander was confused to the purpose of this spell, Neptune knew exactly what it was for. Most dragons preferred wooden doors and stone roofs, even caves, but Neptune was closer to nature. When the sky would rain stars, she wanted them to rain upon her. She conjured this spell upon every tapestry and mandala that blanketed the lair, and on every edge there would form a gilded thread. These tapestries were flung high into the air, and they covered all the walls in their vibrant colors and patterns. Through fire or rain, these mandalas protected each corner of the lair. Thus this expanse of land came to be called the Clan of the Hewn Tapestries. |
The warm welcome of the Matriarch doesn't hide the cold crackle within old blue eyes.
She's not from here, and she knows you aren't, either.
Be kind.
