WAR: EMPEROR OF DESTRUCTION |

Praeli's Wraith Hound Visidium had grown worried as the brambles that were raked away by his claws were rapidly growing back, as though they wanted to kill them or at least wanted them to turn back. The wraith hound looked up at Praeli, his flames swirling slightly and flickering gently. "Master are you sure this is wise? There are so many corpses..." He stopped, having noticed his master's eyes and how terribly blank they were. Something in Visidium knew this would be the worst time and place for him to black out and start speaking funny again so he leapt up and landed on Praeli's head, staring into his eyes. "Master please.. We must turn back before that-" his voice cut off by the look, or was it? |
Praeli turned on the Emperor suddenly and stared at it, his voice different as he rose up to meet the incredible height of the creature. "Stand down. I am not your enemy nor am I dead." The voice entered the Emperor's minds and grated on them as though it were scraping for some kind of foothold there while at the same time caressing them as if to calm them. All heads locked on Praeli now, what seemed to be the dominant head lowering and sniffing him as he raised his paw up to touch it. "Good, good. Listen now. I will kill this vessel, you will merge with it and it will be the controlling head." The Emperor roared in defiance, all the eyes glowing; yellow (light), purple (arcane), brown (earth), saffron (fire), violet (shadow), blue (water), green (nature), pale blue (ice), cyan (lightning), and pale absinthe (wind). Praeli sneered a laugh that almost sounded like strangulation. "You frighten me not, amalgamation. Something like you is just what I need..." Nothing was more frightening than Praeli's shadow at this moment since (despite the immense darkness within the woods) his shadow appeared to swallow all around him, the landscape looking well-lit in comparison, the shadow appearing to grow and malform. The Emperor shrunk away from the shadow's tendrils as they moved toward it before it simply acquiesced and allowed Praeli to take it. Visidium watched in horror as whatever it was that was controlling his master killed him and allowed the creature to consume them both. He watched as Praeli's body was pulled apart and reassembled to merge with them, his colours melding and spreading with the help of his possessor. |

Praeli blinked a few times and his right eye returned to the familiar red colour while the left remained a pulsing, glowing greyish silver, his face presenting somewhat of a frown. "What is wrong with me?... Visidium?... Vis... Please tell me what is wrong with me... I feel... Strong... Godlike." He eyed the brambles before him and thought about destroying them, his thought transferring to the head that utilized fire magic. The jaw on that head opened and belched forth flames that engulfed the ground and lit the area, the sky filling with smoke that blots out the stars. When the flame cleared he was disappointed to discover that the brambles were still there so he called upon his native plague and fire powers as well, mixing them with light and casting the magic out unto the land, the flame roaring up and spreading swiftly, leaving nothing but ash in their wake. Once a path had been carved cruelly before him, Praeli doused the flame with a stream of water, earth and ice magic. "Hmph." He sat a moment, thinking about what he could do now, most of the legends involving Emperors not containing what might occur if a head retained it's sense of self and knowledge without any form of objection by the other head(s) and with ten other heads to oppose him, he thought there might be more resistance than there was. 'It would appear as though they have accepted me as the leader and primary mind. It is not as though I am incapable of maintaining this though, considering how long I have played host without going crazy...' He thought to himself a bit more before rising and looking at his companion, eleven pairs of eyes on the hound. "It's time for us to go. We can no longer remain here. At least not until I get this sorted out." Without another word, Praeli turned and headed back toward his home, having to pick up a few body parts along the way and carry those back as well. |
Leaving for this extended period brought him farther from his goal of determining why the Shadowbinder would not commune with and return to their father. Praeli has long considered himself and the eleven gods as siblings and equals since he was born the chosen vessel for the Shade, even going so far as to call it the Eternal Father since (despite having a small understanding of the Shade) he knew that it was indeed the oldest thing in the cosmos, his very soul feeling just as old and strong. Even with the Shade's departure, it was difficult for him to disregard his oddities as a hatchling, namely the immense strength he demonstrated both magically and physically. |
