The oracle’s story started on a hot July night, when the light of the sun had gone and the shadows of dusk filled the land. Born under Lightweaver, Bightsoul was a baby shunned for her lack of sight. Unable to see the light of the land around her, the dragons of her clan cast the blind young one out. What they didn’t know was that with this blindness she was blessed with a power beyond what anyone else could see. The Lightweaver himself took her under his wing and together they went SouthWest to see Tidelord, master of the oracles. The great light dragon saw something in Brightsoul no one had bothered looking for, a clairvoyance even the oracles of the Sea of a Thousand Currents didn’t even possess. The Tidelord called this clairvoyance Soul Sight, the ability to see into a dragon’s soul and tell the future paths of that dragon.

From that day on Lightweaver entrusted Tidelord with Brightsoul. He knew that the water dragon would train her abilities to their fullest. For a few years Brightsoul trained under Tidelord, strengthening her Soul Sight and even surpassing the oracles previously blessed by the knowledge of the water god. However in this training Brightsoul discovered that it was in the bones and death of the Scarred Wasteland that her power was amplified.

Tidelord took her to Plaguebringer, and the great Mother of Death allowed Brightsoul to live in the Wasteland. Here among the bones she found a true friend. An abandoned baby Chimera that she came to call Roadan. She had seen into Roadan’s soul and his future seemed bleak without a dragon to care for him. The runt of a little should never be left to their own devices, especially to a Chimera. Brightsoul survived without a clan for many years, using Roadan as her eyes to guide her through the Abiding Boneyard, where she met the dragons she lives with today.

Scar was the first dragon to find her, the bone scavenger had gotten lost in the rot. He’d traveled too far from the skeleton he and the clan called home. Using her Soul Sight she led him back to his home, using the map his spirit gave her of the Boneyard. Impressed by her powers Scar showed her to Scourge, their clan leader. Brightsoul told the leader of many battles won in his future and a fortune beyond his wildest dreams, but only if he allowed her to join, as she couldn’t see this without her image somehow being there. It was as if she was seeing her own roads within Scourge’s. It was almost as if she was destined to be there.

Now living in the giant skeleton with her mate Scar, and her clan, Brightsoul finally found a place to belong. She now has a shop where she tells weary travelers their fortunes for a small price. Her Chimera companion chasing away any thieves that may come to try their luck at stealing from the blind oracle.
