There is a darkness within Begbalel. His Nature magic is warped - twisted to favour fungi and things with thorns and leaves that sting.

His scales and the follicles of his feathers secrete a viscous black substance which has a rich peat-like scent. It drips from his body with the consistency of honey, fertilising dangerous plants while acting as a toxin to normal flowers, killing them to make way for tumbling weeds, clutching creepers and poisonous berries.

His dubious gifts have forced him to live a solitary life. He is shunned by other Nature dragons for killing their crops or carefully tended flower gardens, or even simply for ruining a section of forest or meadow. Yet Begbalel cannot help the fact that his passing causes destruction, and a sudden proliferation of the kind of plants that other dragons loathe - the kind that he, despite their dangers, loves and cares for ...

Lociyo trades in spices. He travels to all corners of Sornieth in search of the best. The hottest peppers grown in the Ashfall Wastes, the tangiest seeds from the Shifting Expanse, the richly flavoured leaves found deep in the Viridian Labyrinth, and the sparkling barks of the Starfall Isles. He grinds and preserves them by hand, sometimes mixing them into combinations and other times keeping them pure, but always taking care to taste each packet to ensure that the heat and depth of the flavour is just right.

He loves offering his customers a taste of his powders and pastes. Little jars and bowls of bright spices line the front of his stall, the same way that drying produce hangs at that back, and the intensity of the smells and the colours lures in many dragons to sample and buy.
