Biography

Yusei are always calm and collected, there are very few things that can change that. At first glance he might seem cold and emotionless but once you get to know him you realize that he is kind and caring too those he trust. Tho the amount of dragons that he truly do trust is very low.

He is the leader and one of the founders of the Quasar Clan, the other founder being Rose. To most dragons in the clan he appears cold and distant, But his decisions as a clan leader always has the best for the clan in mind. Yusei takes full responsibility for the clans well being and often blames himself is something does go wrong, this can be a heavy weight on his mind and a strong source of his doubt in his ability to lead the clan. Yusei prefers to keep his problems and doubts to himself, not even telling his mate.

Under his lead the Quasar clan has grown exponentially and is now widely known as a force to recon with. This has earned Yusei the nickname "Shooting Star" among other clans.

Technology of all kinds is something that interests him a lot and thus he is highly skilled at it. The AI of his Scrapmetal Tracker named Bruno is something he coded from the ground up in such a way it seems like the familiar is truly sentient and has the intelligence to match a dragon. Bruno is not just his familiar but also his research assistant.

The technological parts of his body are made by him and Bruno after he got seriously injured in his first encounter with Jack, but as a welcome side effect it makes him move even faster than before.

Due to his personality and fascination with machinery some clan members like to joke about him being a lightning flight spy or just say that he has the wrong element. Some has even suggested a breed change because how far from regular mirror behavior he acts, that is only added on to by that fact that he favors to work alone.

To find Yusei without his soul mate Stardust nearby is extremely rare and a clear indicator that something is wrong. Stardust has been like Yusei's shadow ever since he found the crippled albino hatching abandoned in the mire while he was out on a hunting trip. The duo might appear strange to those who are unfamiliar with it considering that Stardust now is four times bigger than Yusei. Stardust was about half of Yusei's size when he was found in the mire. Yusei made the technological enhancements that can be found on Stardust's body too help increase the physical strength Stardust has been lacking from the day that he hatched as a cripple.

In battle Yusei is a force to recon with. His superior speed and close to flawless tactics makes him an opponent you do not desire to go up against. Yusei relies on his speed and agility to stay alive in high pressure situations while looking for an opening in the opponents defenses. Planing is a big part of any encounter, Yusei is a master at this. If you have figured out his plan it is most likely already to late. As a Mirror he has the added benefit of being able to see heat signatures, granting him ability to track the location of an enemy in complete darkness making the task of ambushing him extremely difficult.

Backstory

Yusei have always been a bit of a lone wolf. His egg had been abandoned in the Crystalspine Reaches by a hunting mirror pack which led to him hatching all alone and then aimlessly wandering around Crystalspine Reaches tired, weak and hungry until he was found by a small hunting party of dunhoof centaurs. One of the centaurs, a pale female named Aruen decided to help and managed to convince the rest of the party to take him in. Yusei was a big part of the little group for several years and became great friends with the centaurs that had rescued him as a hatching.
One day about two years after Yusei joined a new centaur came to the group and Aruen fell in love with the newcomer, tho this newcomer was not a friend of dragons. Everything was fine at a beginning with only a few small arguments, but as time passed the newcomer realized that Yusei was growing up and started to feel threatened by his presence, he did not trust dragons and was worried that this dragon would turn on them and hurt his now beloved mate. Then the thread snapped, Yusei saw the blinding light of the sun reflected in his blade and the felt an incredible pain on the right side of his face. It was all over in the blink of an eye, moments later the centaurs neck had been slashed wide open and his dead body now coated the ground with blood pouring out of his neck and in the middle of it all stood Yusei with claws stained red with blood. The rest of the centaurs stood there frozen in shock and fear. Yusei ran, never to return, his guilt would not allow it, not after he seen the face of his now heartbroken savior whose mate he just had slaughtered in cold blood.

---- The Lost Tundra ----

For several years Yusei wandered around Sornieth. He made sure to stay away from others as best as he could, especially centaurs and other Mirror dragons. One day as he traveled through the depths of the Tangled Wood he bumped into a confused female Tundra with coral colored fur, she looked at him now even more confused than before. Yusei cursed silently to himself over the fact that he had let his guard down and forgot to pay attention to his surrounding to such a degree that he walked right into a Tundra with a bright colored fur coat.
"Hello, are you here to help me?" the Tundra asked him. Yusei stood there unable to understand a word of what she just had said before starting to back away slowly. Yusei's limited knowledge of the common draconic tongue in combination with the Tundra's slow dialect made her speech seem like nothing but a bunch of noises too him. "Hello?" the Tundra repeated. when she didn't get a response she started drawing in the dirt with her one of her claws. The drawing was clearly showing some kind of plant. He remembered seeing a plant that looked kind of like it about fifteen minutes ago. Yusei guessed that the Tundra was looking for one so he nodded and started walking in the direction he came from. The Tundra followed close behind. After a while the Tundra spotted the plant and dashed towards it without any regard for her surroundings and completaly missing the fact that the plant was right on the edge to a huge crack i the ground. Yusei bit her tail in an attempt to stop her. She did stop, and the she turned her head around to look at her bloody tail. "why, what was that good for?!" she said while glaring at him. When she got no response she turned back around towards the plant, then she realized why he bit her. "You could have told me to stop, right?". She froze, then she slowly turned around towards him again. "You can't speak?". He looked confused at her. "Do you speak Beastclan language?", the Tundra said in Beastclan speech. Yusei stared at her and after a little while said in Beastclan language: "You speak Beastclan?!".

The Tundra named Rose decided to accompany Yusei on his travels, he was not so keen on it at first but got used to have her around after a while. It was a clear advantage to having an apothecary around in case things got messy during one of Yusei's hunts. During their travels Rose acted as a language teacher, teaching Yusei the common dragonic tongue something that learnt fast. With time they became close friends.

Because of Rose other dragons started to join their small party, Yusei was everything but happy about this at first and considered to leave several times but did not want of leave his friend so he ended up staying. Some of the first dragons to join were: Starburst, SkyBreaker, Perth, Starfragment, Gembound and Curse. At that point the group was getting quite big and it became hard to sustain everyone, so Yusei derided it was time to find somewhere settle and build a permanent lair. That place was the Starfall isles, the region where Yusei opened his eyes for the first time, it seemed right too him to settle there. The day the party arrived was the day the Quasar clan was founded and Yusei was chosen to be their leader.

One day while out scavenging in the Crystalspine Reaches Yusei found an unhatched arcane egg that had been washed up on the beach by the waves. He instantly thought back on his own childhood and decided to take the egg with him back to the lair, just to save it from the pain he had gone through. When he showed the egg to Rose she instantly took it in an nursed it like her own. The Guardian that hatched for the egg got the name Saphirewings because of her blue colored wings.

---- Dust From the Stars ----

Yusei was out on a regular hunting trip in the Mire, as one of the clans most skilled hunters it would be a shame if he didn't use those skills in order to ensure that the clans food supply remained stable in case a disaster would hit. He was using the shadows as cover when he heard the sound, the crack of a stick braking below somethings weight, like the shadow he hid in he moves towards the source of the sound without making as much as a rattle himself. Yusei prepared himself to leap at the target when i came in sight. Only when he came closer did he realize that it wasn't any of the regular wildlife normally found in the Mire but a white crippled Ridgeback hatchling laying there unable to stand. He slowly approached it, doing his best not to scare it. The hatchling just looked at him. It's red eyes telling everything. Yusei laid his wings around the hatchling like a blanket and said, more to himself than the hatchling: "We are the same, aren't we?". From that point and onward the white Ridgeback named Stardust has never left Yusei's side. They share a bond that no one else are able to understand. Their minds work as one, they can read each others thoughts.

---- A Black Rose ----

Starfall Celebration was in full swing but Yusei preferred to keep his distance form the festivities. He had never seen this many dragons in one place before and the weary thought of it put him on edge and the fact that many of them was far bigger than him, some of them even bigger than Stardust did not make him feel any better. Stardust looked like he was just as uncomfortable as he was. "What am i even doing here?" he thought. The fact that no one else in the aria seemed uneasy in the slightest made him even more troubled than he already was.
Then suddenly something caught his attention. A dark colored Imperial, about four to five times his size now stood in the center of festival aria looking down at the ground trying to ignore the crowd that had started to gather around her. Something was not right about her.

At this point every sense of logic in Yusei's mind told him to stay away but there was also something else, something that made him curious, a sense that this could not be ignored. The crowd was trying to talk to the the imperial but she remained silent, so they went on to try to comfort her with kind words. "No...Go away. Leave me alone!" was the answer they got form her. Yusei was slowly walking towards the crowd with Stardust at his side when the Imperial laid eyes upon him, this is when he realized that she carried the crimson curse. Her mark was glowing, no amount of apparel could cower it up. This was the dragon besides himself with the curse that Yusei ever seen and it was clear to him that was the case for her as well considering the way she stared at him. "G...Get away! This mark has never brought anything but pain!". Several boulders in the aria started to levitate around her. Yusei took a step forwards and Stardust make himself ready to defend him. Yusei's own mark lit up, and in a huge burst of speed he rushed towards her. "Stop, you need to stop!" he called out to her as he ran closer in a desperate try to give the other dragons in the aria enough time to get away. The ground below her had started to rip apart hurling thousands of tiny sharp rocks all around her. He kept running towards her even tho he had been hit by several of the small shards. One beat of her wings created a gust strong enough to throw him of his feet, hurling him several meters back. Before Yusei got the chance to get back up her the Imperial's claws had already closed tight around him but before she got the chance to finish him of, Stardust came from above and managed to put his claws through the tough Imperial scales successfully forcing her down against the shattered ground. "No, wait." he said. Stardust released his grip and took a couple of steps back. "Calm down, i know this isn't really you." Yusei said to the Imperial. She gave him a long stare before she said: "I'm a monster and nothing else.". "You don't have to be, but you won't change unless you try." he answered. "I'm Aki." she said.
