Blazeflower was born with the blessings of the Flamecaller laid upon her eyes, but upon her small body, she bore the marks signifying the betrayal of her older sister Selesta. The dark coloured marks wove across her body like scars, making her a horrifying sight to any dragon who saw her. As such, despite the prophecy stating that she will eventually become the leader of the Vesuvius Clan (now the clan of the Hearthhome Citadel), her mother Goldenstar was reluctant to appoint her for fear she will turn out to be like Selesta - who abandoned her leadership post mysteriously one day and was never seen again.

After waging a war against Ignacia, Blazeflower was able to defeat the tyrannical Coatl and drive her out of the Clan. However, great prices were paid - countless Clanmates lost their lives, including Blazeflower's own son and own mate, Kasai and Midairi. In honour of her great sacrifice, the curse that was laid upon her from birth was removed and she was treated as a hero by her whole Clan. Her own mother, Goldenstar, has also come to accept her.
