Ruler of the Underworld

It was a terrible day, he remembered. The earth was filled with green - full of disgusting, wet and slimy greenery. It was by mere chance that he happened to pass by the flower fields of Nysa. And his listless eyes sparkled and came to life as he gazed upon an Angel that seemingly descended from the Heavens, picking flowers daintily and lovingly. At that moment, none of all the wealth and riches, or the amount of souls he could reap would satiate his longing and desire for that lovely nocturne.

Persephone was meant for him, and him alone.

Ever swiftly he cast a spell on her, carrying her away as if Zeus was hot on his heels to snatch her, deep down into the familiar depths of the Underworld. Hades tried his best to keep his charge warm and comfortable, he meant no harm to her. He did not speak often, and when he did, he kept his voice melodic and powerful - turning on his charm like water from a tap. Mostly, he gazed at her beautiful, sweet personality and lost demeanor with adoration in his eyes. He was surprised by her willing forgiveness, and gently coaxed her to open her heart to him.

Her mother was vehemently against the union. He expected as such, and whisked her away once again, off to the Scarred Wastelands. They visited the cult leader of the Sisterhood, Eha, and sought her witchery. Knowing her mother would never rest until she was found, his beloved inhaled a potion brewed by the witch and fell into a deep slumber. Hades watched over her for days, restless and worrying. On the last day of the week he was prepared to put an end to the witch's life. Suddenly, Persephone opened her eyes - reborn as a coatl.

She brought greenery to his withered flesh and bones, while he himself was charmed by the change she wrought upon him. He would adorn her with fairy wings and silks, calling her his Queen. And they love each other forever more.
