Though born with the Light element, his fascination always laid in the absence of it, the darkness and shadows of this world. This was also what eventually led him into the Tangled Woods. Following only his instincts anymore, his way crossed Opals and Violettas per chance, though at first not in a pleasant way. The ladies were hunting a Tatterwing Carcass that came too close to their lair, making sure it wouldn't be able to hurt anyone. For this reason they pushed the Guardian away, growling at him as he tried to help. They didn't needed it anyway, shortly after the Carcass wasn't anymore. Impressed by their fast movements and effective tactics, Phylax tried to talk to them once more, with success, ending in him finding a new home.
