Relationships:
She is only really close with her two daugthers; Aveil and Waneta.

Currently she doesn't have any mate, and will probably not let herself close enough to anyone to ever nest again.

Backstory:
Very much a work in progress and not proof read. I just needed to put down the basic idea.
As a young adult Varda fell in love with another guardian named Jareth. Together they settled down in this lair to start their own clan. Together they got 2 daugthers, Aveil and Emmy. After some time, Jareth felt a strong calling to leave the lair and join the Flamecaller. Their daughter Emmy joined him as he left the clan to serve the Flamecaller. For a time Varda was heartbroken, but it’s very important to her that dragons in her clan is welcome to come and go as they want, as long as they are being respectful. Every dragon decides for them self if they want to move on to serve the deity of their choice.

Some time later she became very close to a guardian named Igor, and they got 3 hatchlings together; Crested, Blades and Impulse. Igor was no beauty, but he was a good fighter with a short temperament. All 3 of thier hatchlings shared his talent for fighting, and his violent personality. When the hatchlings grew up they left the lair to find their own way, like many hatchlings do. Igor wanted more hatchlings, but Varda wasn’t ready to get more with him since she over the time they had been together had seen how brutal he could be. She lost the trust she needed to have him as her mate, and he didn’t take kindly to being rejected. He tried to dominate her and take over the role as the main leader to set her in her place, but she was not going to let that happen. She forced him out of the lair and he was banished from the clan.

For quite some time after that Varda was leading the clan alone, but as the clan grew, it became harder and harder to give everyone the time and attention they needed, and she felt like she couldn’t lead her clan like this. One of the better fighters in the clan, Rhaegar, helped her a lot, and they grew closer. They became mates and got 4 hatchling together, Crueak, Waneta, Mara and Tamia. Even if they had found each other, Rhaegar was still a fighter. When the hatchlings grew up, he also trained them in combat, and they all had his instinct for fighting. After the basic training was done, most of their offsprings moved on and left the clan to find their own way in this world. Waneta was the only one that stayed behind, and she always joined her father on missions. One day Rhaegar and Waneta were ambushed by serthis close to the border between Ashfall Waste and Shifting Expanse. They attacked with weapons covered in poison and in an effort to protect Waneta, Rhaegar was very badly injured and weakened. They fought the serthis off and managed to get away, but they only barely made it home to their lair. Varda, Aveil and the clans new healer/witchdoctor/potion master, Esme, did all in their power to save the two. Waneta survived with some permanent chronic pain and a limp hind leg, but Rhaegar didn’t make it.

Today Varda leads her clan with the help of a counsil, instead of relying on a mate to run it with her. Althought she is very open minded about dragons leaving her lair to serve the deity of their choice, she has a hard time letting herself become close to other dragons. Her daugthers is the only ones she is close to, and she is always looking out for their safety. This can sometimes be a little frustrating for Waneta who wants to revenge her father and siblings, because Varda only lets her go on low risk missions and never with a small team.
