about.
Linwood grows food for the dragons in Firnhold who prefer vegetation - and what they can't eat immediately, he preserves for storage, or sends it off to be traded to the Frostflower tundras in exchange for what goods they can provide. Visitors to Firnhold may never even notice he's there - he's usually found in warm, humid tunnels off the main vault, tending to the mushrooms, mosses and lichens that he can grow without natural light - thanks to the hostile weather outside, tending a garden out there is not, at present, an option.

He is a quiet, empathetic soul who is happiest when he's caring for things - plants, beasts or other dragons, they're all equally satisfying for him to take care of. He is, admittedly, a little shy of other dragons and therefore tends to spend the most time with his plants: they are simple, predictable, and they don't need much to be kept happy... unlike people. He's anxious in conversation, prone to stuttering or abruptly going silent when he's feeling particularly awkward, but if he can relax (usually with those he knows well), he has a very laid back, calming demeanor that sets people at ease.

Linwood's not used to having friends, and he'll go well out of his way to help someone for just a little bit of kindness or affection; in fact, he always seems vaguely surprised when someone is kind to him without asking for something from him in return. He's bonded quickly to some of the younger dragons at Firnhold - particularly Ziv and Kalytia, the three of them forming a close trio. Linwood absolutely adores Kalytia and would do anything for her, a fact which is blindingly obvious to everyone but the two of them.

history.
Linwood's family were... not kind people. They were poisoners, kidnappers, slavers, the kind of dragons who took what they wanted and cared little for the damage they caused. Linwood was always a little too soft for that - he hurt when others hurt, and to show it would be weakness, so he isolated himself instead. He found comfort in his father's garden, where his father grew the ingredients for his toxic concoctions; wanting to be useful somehow, Linwood learned how to care for them... and then, over time, began to plant other things in the garden, just to have something beautiful to care for that wouldn't harm anyone. He learned how to use his natural magic to nurture plants, bring life to even the most barren soil, and so long as he kept the toxic plants healthy as well, his family left him alone to his own devices.

Though he rarely ventured out to meet other dragons, he did attend Nature's yearly festivals, often selling fruits and flowers to travelers from distant lands. It was there that he met Taeven, who happened to be looking for a gardener with powerful nature magic to help support her small clan far to the south. Linwood jumped at the opportunity to get away from his fierce, deadly family - when Taeven left the Labyrinth, Linwood went with her without bothering to warn his relatives, and never once looked back. (He is, to be honest, a little afraid of what may happen if they ever see him again... but as long as he never leaves the frozen mountains he calls home now, he should be fine, right?)

The situation he found at Firnhold was less than ideal - a crowded and somewhat cramped vault, freezing cold, and an oft-clouded sky. Linwood did what he could, learning to cultivate plants that could survive the harsh climate and those that could be grown within the vault. It works well enough to keep the clan alive, but he hopes one day he can build a greenhouse so they can do more than just survive. He's getting tired of mushrooms.
