Cherish was born weak. He was the only hatchling that survived from his litter; his mother was devastated. The disappointment from her mother, and the shame from the rest of the clan at having eggs that wouldn't hatch, were too much for her. She fled the clan, and started her new life. Cherish was left by his mother, but the family was still there for him. He was too weak to do anything after hatching, so his remaining family did their best to help. Their loving licks quickly glazed over whatever color the hatchling was, and he grew to be a pearly white. He was born weak, but with the love of his family, they knew he would be cleansed. They were wrong. Cherish grew stronger, but not enough. He was always sickly, and could never keep up with the other hatchlings, even the ones much younger than him. With the responsibility of the clan in their hands, his older family members couldn't spend all their time babying him. While they still loved him, his weak body was only a hindrance to the family lineage. Fortunately for Cherish, Squall had taken quite a liking to him. And Squall also researched into mechanical and magical mechanisms to help Cherish out. It took a long time of research, networking, time, and money, but eventually Cherish was able to walk on his own four legs, with the help of experimental magical augmentations. In hopes to make up for his lost childhood, Cherish strove to become even stronger to help defend his clan. After the reign of Ice and the death of most his family, Cherish vows to become even stronger to protect the small clan he calls his home. Never again will he let those close to him fall in battle. While his steadfast dedication to becoming more powerful can be intimidating, he still will sometimes let his softer side show, especially around his close clan mates. He can often be seen training with the clan warriors, and even running with the mirror pack to get faster. When he's not training, Cherish is usually found relaxing alongside Squall. |
