Asala .:. Female • Water • Matriarch

The Clan of Steel Crest Cove is lead by a proud and strong matriarch named Asala. Many of her newly formed clan have come to join her, safest under her lavender wings, camouflaged under the steely iridescence of her girth. Her frills are not of average female's length; they are that of a matriarch, crowns at her cheekbones and bright horns that shine like blown glass under sunlight. Her clan collectively decided Steel Crest was a fitting name for their clan and territory, named after her long steely horns.

Asala is a patient, gentle dragon dame with little quarrel with anyone. She was raised by a small family of Guardians living comfortably close to the Tidelord’s Spiral Keep and closely to his prophecies until one day, she became struck by the Search. Following the millions of bubbles carrying the Tidelord’s song to the sky, Asala breached the ocean’s surface and began her journey across the ocean to seek her purpose. She flew and swam, flew and walked for years, entranced, her heart welling up with pride the closer she drew to her destination that eluded her. She grew stout and strong, far from her lazing days of the Spiral Keep, and battled with various sea creatures and other dragons for shelter or food. At the end of her journey she stumbled scarred and exhausted out of a dark mangrove, and into a cove tucked away from the rest of the world.

As she lay alone in a cave the first nights, she noticed the sound of skittering and tiny thpp's occasionally from corners of her cave. The tiny creature woke her up one night, atop her nose stood a little Bramble Guardian, who stood up straight and tall and widely stared back at her. She promptly snorted, and the little lizard skittered back into the darkness and watched her from afar. For not smashing him on sight, he took this as a sign of friendship and has been her familiar since.

This was her Charge, she was certain. Something about this place she knew she had to protect, and protect it she did, fiercely. A large group of Maren lived here until she fought them off by tooth and nail, and eventually they came to an agreement after one final standoff with Varatheela and Aquarius at her side. With victory under her wings and sisters that respected her, Asala swore to begin the clan of Steel Crest Cove here, where dragons and Beastclan could live peacefully.

It is unusual for Guardians to have large lairs, but Asala began to accept more and more into her home. She made a name for herself traveling and received many gifts or challenges from other Water Flight clans. Under her protection, many joined her clan and began to make a sizable home within the cove’s deep lairs. Here she was, her Search at completion and her clan prospering generously. A young male Guardian named Sataareth found his way to her cove on his own Search, and remained there. He became loyal and protective of Asala, never blatantly admitting that herself and her home he found to be his charge.

After her first Wavecrest Saturnalia celebration among her own clan and friends, covered in surprise exploding gardens and gifts of dragon familiars, Asala decided it was time to settle down and mother her first clutch of eggs. She decided that Sataareth was a handsome and suitable male to be a fine leader to rule next to her, and with Varatheela’s council, she went out to seek him. That night, they took to the skies far above the ocean, wind and wave melody to their dance.

Asala's Bramble Guardian also multiplied, himself being the largest of the tiny army of lizards. She and her little lizard seemed to have a way of communication now, and all of the clan are forbidden to kill any of his family. He maintains his kin well, making sure not to be a pestilence, and Asala is working on a better name for him. Though his name is spoken by flicking the tongue tightly in between lips, for now he is known as Thipp, Guardian of the Fissures.
