Biography

Azrael
Leader of Shadow Team
Archangel of death.

Smoke Gyre

Ebony Filigree Banner
Night Sky Wing Silks

Azreal is a dragon of the night. His egg hatched at night, and ever since he’s been drawn to the night. His sleeping schedule was different from his parents and his siblings when he was still with them. He would sleep during the day, and keep his parents up all night. He was an unruly hatchling. He was silent and sullen when asked to cooperate, and seldom spoke. So his parents sent him off to live with another clan.

Little did his parents know that that clan would be taken over by a fierce tribe of warriors. Large Imperials covered in armor that had weapons in their claws stole upon the clan in the night. For once Azreal felt something, but it was fear. Strangely, he felt alive. He admired the large beasts and their skills of pillaging. It didn’t bother him that the clan was murdered, he didn’t feel any attachment to the scholars and baby sitters anyway.

He yielded himself to the warriors, and they accepted the dark young Imperial. He lived as a captive for a while, but when the clan saw his worth he was raised to apprentice. They day had been dark and overcast, and he’d been grumpy and sullen all evening, so when a peer challenged him, Azreal had no problem tearing into him. The other didn’t die, but the strength and agility Azreal possessed was recognized.

After that he began his training. He learned stealth so well that he could sneak up on the flightiest of foes and catch them unaware. He could keep him weapons hidden on his body as well, and his eyesight grew keener with practice. His movements were silent, and his voice hardly louder than a whisper. He was a wraith in the night.

When he was old enough he began doing missions for his leader. He would stalk out at night and attack small clans in the darkness, be it other dragons or beasts. He would plunder what he could, and should he get caught he would kill without thought. Sometimes his missions were to directly perform an assassination on those who were enemies of his clan.

However, the clan soon fell into anarchy and chaos. There were too many disagreements on how things should run, and their leader was challenged. The challenger was a spry young female Imperial full of fire and strength. She defeated the leader, much to Azreal’s dismay. Before she could begin to implement her plans for rule he fled.

He ran away because the female was a past love, an affair filled with lust and fire and miscommunications. It was wonderfully destructive for the couple, and they all knew it wouldn’t last. Having her as a leader would only grow more discord. It would be better is Azreal found a different place with dragons he would get along with better.

So he discovered Congetla’s clan. The other Imperial was welcoming enough, and Azreal can take care of himself. While he was another mouth to feed, he could help provide food as well. Though still sullen and hard to talk to. He takes his job very seriously, and his interactions are those of necessity.

He is usually found sleeping during the day in a cave, his armor still on. He doesn’t trust anyone, even those who show him kindness. He is still an assassin at heart, but his night time murders are fewer than they had been. Nowadays he spends his nights hunting for food for his current clan. There is much to hunt in the Shadow realm if you know where to look, and Azreal knows where to look
