Veloden

Not much longer after getting to nearly full grown size, Veloden was lead by the urgings of her “search” and immediately went on it to become a complete dragon. Searching along the Shifting Expanse she came across a deep canyon and immediately knew this was what she had been looking for, unfortunately a large group of harpies had also taken a liking to the huge land that was easy to defend. Not letting the large amount of enemies deter her from claiming the land as her own, she jumped right into battle.

The harpies put up quite a bit of a fight but she finally managed to beat them all. After thinking victory was hers, she was jumped by several Sandstrikers who had been disturbed by the huge battle from before. Exhausted from her previous fight, she struggled but still managed to get the upper hand. After clearing the canyon she collapsed completely exhausted with blood seeping out of multiple wounds. She had defended her charge with all her strength and though it was short lived, she knew she would die complete and that, in itself, made her feel a strong sense of pride. Before closing her eyes for the last time she studied the beautiful canyon, imagining what it would be like to be full of the many different dragons that would be her clan. She didn’t realize that the Fae dragon sitting before her was more than just her final musings until the warmth of his magic soothed her to sleep.

When she awoke in immense pain she realized she had actually survived the ordeal and immediately got up to study her new charge, much to Keldion’s dismay, but he understood and helped support her to the lip of the canyon so she could see it still remained hers. She immediately set to work on removing the corpses of the many slain creatures that had caused her injury and despite nearly collapsing from it all the Fae watched knowing no matter what he said she needed to do this for her pride’s sake. After the task was done she rested for three days, waking up only to walk a patrol around her charge each day.

After the three days of rest she realized that she would need to expand the land she had claimed as her charge more if she was to make this her perfect home. Knowing before she had chosen it that the rock was no match for her claws, she set to work on making a nice den. She did not know fully what all kinds of dragons would join her clan but the thoughts that filled her head excited her. She got carried away and dug until her wounds reopened. Keldion scolded her and did his best to fix her up again.

Finally she was fully healed and as Keldion was removing her bandages and was preparing to dispose of them she stopped him and took the bandages back. She studied them a moment before tying them right back on her. She didn’t want to forget the struggle she went through to obtain this land. She fought bravely and was proud of it all. To this day she still wears those bandages. Just as she had seen before Keldion had rescued her on that fateful day, her clan is now large and thriving.
