Biography

~The Ruthless Leader~

Zeare
A harsh, but fair ruler. He built The Sanctum into what it is today.

As an egg he was separated from his family. Lost to a terrible storm that knocked him from his nest and buried him beneath the sand. Forgotten by his mother who hurriedly gathered up his siblings and left to find safer grounds, leaving him behind.

He hatched months later, an orphan, having no idea who his parents were and having no one to teach him about the new world he had suddenly been forced into. He was hungry, tried from the effort it had taken to push his way out of his egg and dripping in the now cold, embryonic fluid that had nurtured him for so long... and he was completely alone... Alone to fend for himself in a world he knew nothing about...

... And he did...

For several years the unnamed creature fought for his survival, he became a vicious, ruthless dragon with no regard for anyone but himself. He stooped to stealing eggs from unattended nests and curious hatchlings that had wandered too far from their clan for food. Until one day he encountered another loner, a red Guardian by the name of Faidith, who claimed to have been separated from her previous clan. She took pity on the Mirror she found, giving him a name and accompanying him. At first he was aggravated with the fact that she had forced herself (quite rudely) into his life, but after a few years she began to grow on him. They became close, and as their bond grew Zeare's attitude and view towards the world changed. He became kinder, to a point, though he was still ruthless and short-tempered.

For a long time they searched the Contagion for a suitable place to live, eventually stumbling upon a small cave in the side of Rot Rock Rim which could easily be expanded and dug down into. It was there that The Sanctum of Outcasts made its home.

Not long later, after they had grown in number by just a few, Zeare ran into another Guardian while out hunting, an exile named Ezra, who had picked a fight with a massive Ridgeback. Reacting on both instinct and hunger, Zeare joined the fray to drive off the Ridgeback. He did not, however, come out unscathed. Before fleeing, the other dragon managed to land a life-threatening blow across the Mirror's face, causing him to lose all sight in both his normal eyes, while his heat-sensitive were merely just damaged.
Ezra carried his newfound (and unconscious) friend back to his clan, declaring he was taking Zeare as his charge the very moment he woke again and refusing to take 'no' as an answer.

Zeare and Faidith's daughter was born soon afterwards. Her name was Phantasma, and she was gifted by the Plaguebringer with what the clan has now named 'The Sight'. Not long after her birth, however, Faidith made the hard decision of leaving the Clan to serve the Plaguebringer, convinced that it was the best way to protect the two dragons she loved more than anything else in Sorneith.
Zeare tried his best to convince her to stay, but her mind was set, and she left just a few days later, never to return. Despite his despair, the young Mirror knew his clan still needed it's leader, and as their leader he needed to be strong and level-headed, so he continued his duties to them as best he could with their and his daughter's support.

He continued this day-by-day push until a beautiful, young, Pearlcatcher came to the clan. She had been found wandering out of the Sea of a Thousand Currents and into the Contagion in search of the Plaguemother's warm embrace. Saying her old clanmates never understood, that they called her crazy until the day she left. This Pearlcatcher, Aima, now lives happily at Zeare's side with their daughters, Phantasma and Kaida.
