Storm

The clan matriarch, Storm is responsible for keeping the clan together and her word is law. Equal only to her mate and the wise elder progenitor, Iormungr, she guides the Free dragons and helps to carve out a place for them in this uncertain world.

Raised in the Expanse her entire life, Storm has never seen a day outside of the desert. She is a quick-witted, intelligent survivor, and she displays just enough cowardice to survive and just enough bravery to keep others alive, too. While she can be headstrong, she is learning to rely on others for support and advice.

An intelligent warfighter, Storm served in the Air Battalion of the Lightning Military; one of the subordinate battalions of the infamous Shock Troop Division, which is the still-standing and overarching corps of infantry. Disillusioned with the Lightning Flight's constant push for dominance, she served her volunteer time and discharged honorably and peacefully.

For years she helped lead a survivalist clan of ragtag, abandoned, and unemployed dragons; the ragged castaways of the Lightning economic machine. For the past year, she operated against the Flight, her clan consumed in an idealistic revolution. After they continually won pyrrhic victories or simply failed outright, they switched track and continued on a revised iteration of their first existence.

Storm tends to be defeatist; prideful and over-confident but not arrogant, setbacks incense and irritate her, and too many of them will cause her to shut down. To her clan's credit, Ragnaros and others are usually able to rally her enough to rally them in return. The wildclaw needs a group to survive: she would die as a lone wolf.

Flaws aside, she is hardened, wild, and fights to live every day better than her last. It is this mindset that has kept her out of dark places and revitalized her from failure.

Recently, her mate Nachtlicht broke off their partnership out of the blue. This was difficult for her to understand and deal with, as wildclaws tend to mate for life. After a few days to think things over, she agreed, relenting to his request and assumed it was simply a pearlcatcher thing to move on after a while. It was many good years, and she doesn't regret it, and to her surprise, she doesn't regret the breakup.
More to her surprise, however, is that she has noticed that one of the youngest wildclaws, offspring of some of the new clanmates, seems to be vying for her attention. Or at least, he's trying to.
