Belial

Cradled gently in its nest of soft, golden grass, the egg seemed to glow differently from its sister. Instead of the pure, wholesome essence of Light, it seemed to pulse with a hidden malevolence. A deep fissure suddenly burst up the side, steam issuing from deep inside the shell. One hard, yellow eye opened and glared out into the world. Slowly, deliberately, the creature within pulled itself from slumber and out of the shattered remnants of it's birthplace, one foot pressing into the earth it would one day rule as Lord and Conquerer. Sickly green wings spread wide, dripping some substance inimical to life. He opened his mouth for the first time, ready to claim his birthright.
"Oh, listen to him squeak, dear, he sounds just like you!" his mother reached out one gentle claw to brush away the bit of eggshell that still perched on his head like a comical hat. "Isn't he the sweetest?"

Belial the Destroyer looked down at himself for the first time, saw the soft blue of his scales, the glittering pink that coated his underside, and swore vengeance. The world would tremble before him.



"This pink is my belly showing how many souls I've eaten; each sparkle is an enemy who crossed me."
