Biography
CAPILLARY
He/Him | Butcher
Among the Gladekeeper's disciples life is precious. The waste of a life is one of the highest offenses, so when prey is caught, every part is used. Everything edible is sent to the food stores or used to feed familiars. Pelts are tanned into leather, used for warmth, clothing, or even decor. Bones, horns, and hooves are kept and used for decoration, or to become components in spells or medicine. Such materials also find use in religious rites. Everything serves a purpose.
Capillary serves a crucial role, seeing that no part of prey is wasted. His main job is skinning and butchering prey, sending the meat to the stores and preparing the pelt for use. He also sees that bones and horns are managed. Hemoglobin is often found around his den after he finished with the carcasses, collecting bones to use in her potions, or for components in her spells. Paloma and Hawthorne are other recipients. The crushed up bone can be used in supplements or for wider healing. Citrine, the jeweler, may also be found near Capillary's station, saving delicate bones, claws, and feathers for use in her creations. Some find his job odd, considering his herbivorous nature, but Capillary is well suited for the role. He does not shy away from gore, and his role is highly regarded.
Personality wise, Capillary is surprisingly friendly. He gets along with most people well enough, though he is known to hold grudges for long periods of time. He is very resourceful, a trait picked up from his upbringing in the Shattered Wasteland, where life was scarce and everything that could be scavenged was a gift. Due to this he also becomes attached to his belongings, no matter how useful they actually are. His lair is cluttered with items he fears to part with. Capillary is also rather crafty; in his spare time he can be found carving intricate designs from horns or thick bones. His creations can be found decorating parts of the clan, and very rarely as a part of the goods up for trade when he can be convinced to let them go.
Capillary and Cerys are mates. They became close when Cerys first arrived at the clan. As a plague dragon, Capillary had his fair share of experience with diseases, and Cerys was eager to hear what he had to say. The frequent meetings led to the two becoming fast friends and eventually more. Cerys still occasionally questions her mate on his experience with certain diseases, and his natural immunity.
