Olivia

Teacher

"Settle down now. It's time to learn not play."

Lore

The laughter of hatchlings can be heard from deep within the cave. A soothing voice silences them all, attempting to teach them lessons they will need to survive in the world if they decide to leave one day. Alternatively, they can also learn how to correctly serve the Arcanist, but that is beside the point. Surely, her words of wisdom will aid them as they make their way through this crazy world full of random explosions that may or may not destroy the world again.

The teacher is a young Imperial named Olivia. Here, she gives these young hatchlings a chance to better themselves. She shows them how to shine no matter what challenges they may one day face.

Looking back, Olivia wishes that someone had taken the time to teach her about the world when she was young. At six days old, she was thrown out of her cave without warning and set to auction. She too plain to be of any use to the clan and too valuable to resist selling for shiny gems.

After round after round of dragons shouting obscene prices, her fate was sealed. Her clan leader handed her over to a young Spiral male in return for a large sum of shiny coins. She returned with him, afraid of what her future would hold. Most dragons sold at such high prices were well taken care of normally but became status symbols instead of clan members. Olivia didn't desire to live her life without meaning. Alas, there was nothing she could do but follow the Spiral, who had begun chattering at her about the errands he had to do before they went home.

At dusk, they arrived at a large marketplace thriving under the blessing of the Arcanist. Her fears seemed to be confirmed by the wealthy looking halls they walked through to reach her new dwelling. The Spiral, who had introduced himself as Isaic a few hours ago at Swip's Booth, left her in front of a curtain shrouding her room's entrance. She stood there looking at the intricate blue cloth for longer than she should before a coughing noise from beyond it startled her.

Curiosity conquering fear, she parted the curtain and found herself in a small sitting room that branched off into two other caves. To the left stood a sleeping chamber dimly lit by the moonlight streaming in through the window. To the right, there was a brightly illuminated workshop with smoke drifting lazily out the entrance. She saw another Imperial working diligently on something there, pausing occasionally due to coughing fits followed by cursing his poor choice to catch a cold this season

She stood there quietly for a time, watching him work on what appeared to be some kind of lamp. Eventually, she realized that he wasn't likely to notice her anytime soon and walked towards the sleeping chamber to make herself comfortable. Taking notice of the walls, she found more reason to suspect status as her reason. Her cave mate had papers documenting him as a purebred gen 2 Imperial hung on his wall. She then took her matching set and placed them in the empty frame beside him, taking notice that her purpose here was likely to serve not only as a status symbol, but also as a mate to him.

As time went on, Olivia grew accustomed to her new life in the Starfall Isles. She found her mate Brenoch to be better than she expected, comfortably engaging with her as if she wasn't bought solely to be his. When he left to help other clans, she found herself alone with far too much time on her hands. To fill her empty time, she decided to create a proper nursery for any hatchlings that find themselves in the clan.
