"We are the iron backbones of our men, my ladies. Rise up to the battle, and fight! To arms!"

━━━━━━━━━━━━ b i o ━━━━━━━━━━━━

Pyre is a hotblooded wildclaw with a knack for leadership. Driven half feral with her lust for blood, Pyre is an efficient killer, notorious for her crippling moves. In fights, it is up to her to bring the beast down before her fighters kill it. In government it is the same. Everyone listens to her advice, battlewise, and her voice gives considerable strength to any arguement. Her opinion combats Modremoth's voice of reason. Whilst Modremoth controls most of the clan, all coatls, wildclaws and warriors pledge allegiance to her.

Pyre is mated to Endo, a quiet but beautiful coatl-turned-wildclaw who gives intelligence to Pyre's ferocity. Endo is one of the few dragons who Pyre listens to dutifully, as he gained her respect years ago. Along side him stands her other beau, Loa, an older 'claw who gives Pyre a view into the spiritual world. With Pyre's current adversaries, having Loa at her side has proven essential. Pyre is currently hoping for a strong daughter who can continue on her bloodlines, after her firstborn was nearly killed by Modremoth's ex-mate. For now, she entertains a distant ancestor bent on killing her.

Pyre's favourite animal are predatory birds, finding a strong kinship with them. She almost always spares raptors and other such dangerous birds. She has a fondness for scorpion poison, often using it to flavour her meals. Despite her prowess, Pyre has a deathly phobia of maggots. She refuses to let anyone know, for fear of her image being tainted. She perfers her deaths clean, quick and buried.

Pyre wears splints that improves her leg strength. Little to anyone's knowledge, Pyre has always had weak legs, that give out occasionally. Her splints, provided by Endo, not only support her but give her extra strength, improving her fighting. Her current attire masks them completely, giving her a strength that is unparalleled. It's almost cheating.

There is no doubt that Pyre is a Queen. Any opposition will be swiftly crushed.

━━━━━━━━━━━━ l o r e ━━━━━━━━━━━

Part 1: The Beginning

Credit to Bougie
Pyre was born into a lair that she did not remember. She did not remember the faces of her parents, nor did she remember any siblings.
All that she remembered, was the thirst. The raw thirst for the fight, to tear into others with tooth and claw. She remembered wandering the vast emptiness of the land, meeting some and slaying others.
She admired dragons whom could fight, and she admired the females most of all. Nothing was quite as fierce as a female fighting to protect something that was hers.

It was then that Pyre started to take a clear preference in hanging out with other females, starting to find males worthless and weak, and only good for gifting them with strong daughters.
Years went by and Pyre started to gather a small group around her, consisting of all females. The group got bigger and they grew into a small clan. Some males were allowed, but only for the menial work she and her sisters did not deem worthy their time.
They spent most their time training and fighting, displaying their power and health and keeping enemies at bay.
Someday Pyre might give a male the honor of giving her daughters, or she may not.
But for now, she was content in having the company of her many sisters in battle.

Part 2: The new clan

Since then, Pyre has found the forest lair to be a place of temporary rest, and to tend to her clan's wounds. Coatls are strong fighters, but do not travel well. As she was resting, however, glided a dark mass from the forest. Bones rattled and clicked, as velvety purple wings outstretched. Here was her next enemy, a duel most great. The great skydancer stood in front of us, raised his antlered head up, took a deep breath and-
-welcomed her clan into the lands. Confused, Pyre brought herself up, ready to fight and claim the lands for herself. The skydancer smiled, and told her of the new expansion of the lair. He needed a Clan to reside there and defeat the beastclans trying to take over the unclaimed land.
Whilst Pyre was disappointed she wouldn't be able to fight this intriguing male, she welcomed the offer. Free food and aid for her injured girls in return for the bloody taste of victory did not hurt.

One day though, she will rule over the rest of this new clan. The ratio of females to males already made her quiver with excitement. Soon she will make these males aware of their new place. Under her.

Where they belonged.

Part 3: Endo

Like Modremoth, the current head of the other clan, Pyre needed a mate, or else she wouldn't be accepted into this other clan. She saw the dissatisfaction among the clan's weaker dragons, and knew if she was to eventually rule, she needed a mate, and she was not choosing the Skydancer. She needed a mate that her clan would appreciate. As she was pondering this, a graceful Skydancer trotted into the den she and her clan had made. The coral winged Lira welcomed her properly to the clan, apologising for the wait. She was the clan mother, and looked after the hatchlings and their mothers. Whilst affronted, Pyre recognised her efforts. Whilst her girls had not bred yet, some had requested more males in the clan for this very purpose. Besides, this dancer would be perfect for Pyre's search for an appropriate mate.

Once the girls were settled and being introduced to the other clan by Lira's helpers, Pyre and Lira went to the auction house. There it was apparent Lira was well known. Pyre stood in awe as Lira fought for the cheapest hatchlings, as fierce with her treasure as Pyre was with her attacks. Soon, a black coatl with features like a past mate approached the stage. He was the one. Pyre consulted Lira, and though he was expensive, he quickly became theirs.

His name was Endo, and he quickly proved a capable partner. Pyre tested him over the course of a month, and quickly swelled with pride when he surpassed all the tests. His calm to her fire, he handled political arguments calmly, where Pyre would have started swinging. He learnt how to talk to the irritating fae, whose nests were always at Pyres height. Whilst Pyre got to know the women and hear their stories, he talked to male and female alike, and quickly became liked.
The girls approved of him. And so, Endo was finally chosen as her mate, and soon was in charge of a single egg she produced. He would be a good father, whilst she would rule.

Part 4: The leader, and the mate

First though, she needed to mull over this proposition Modremoth had offered. He, after much discussion with the females in his clan, had decided on a mate, but privately had told Pyre he refused to let this mate lead. So, as she was the figurehead of her clan, he proposed to bond the two leaders together and let the clans unite under the combined rule of the two leaders.... Himself... And Pyre. It was a sudden decision, one which concerned Pyre, but it was a smart one. Whilst co-reigning wasn't her ideal plan, having a justified seat as leader will help her girls greatly. And having Endo make her leadery decisions for her as she fought excited Pyre greatly. This plan would work.
The only trouble would be of course, his mate. If Pyre's hunches were correct, she would not be letting this go without a fight. This female was cunning and vindictive, and not hesitant to cheat. She was worldly too, having travelled like her. It would be a difficult fight.

Pyre was keen.

Part 5: Morrow

There was however, one thorn in Pyre's side. A crystalline, sky blue thorn. Whilst Modremoth and his assistant, Voltair the fae, were okay with the idea of women co-reigning a clan, an imperial named Morrow was dead against it. Morrow had two imperial females he claimed were his, and treated them and their daughters cruelly, as well as three Sisters he had his eyes on. The poor females were cowed, shivering things, with no fight in their fearful bodies. One such female was an acolyte of light, and from what Endo told her, was not welcome anywhere with the clan unless she hid her splendour, which Morrow made sure to do. Another female was a brilliantly rare shade of blue and green, and was his favourite, even if she preferred a coli fighter.
Pyre was sickened by this stud, and hissed whenever he came near her girls, with his hungry eyes and seductive grin. She refused to have anything to do with this beast, however his time will come. When duties allowed her, she will fight this animal and prove to his females as well as to him that females will always reign dominant. She relished the thought, and spent her nights planning his demise. He will not die by her claws, only wish he had.

Such thoughts comforted her when Endo was out conversing with Celeste or the Skydancers. She will never admit it, but his steady warmth comforted her at night when she allowed him to share a nest with her. Ah, she was growing weak. When this nonsense was sorted out in the clan, she would look forward to defeating beast after beast again, relishing in nothing so simple as feeling the stickiness of blood between her claws. She stretched and rolled over in the nest again. Soon.

Soon she will fight again.

Part 6: The assassin
Pyre accepted the role as Queen. It was the right thing to do. However, during the coronation, although it was quickly stifled, roars of protest rang through the glade. For her mate and child's sake, she slept separately for the first few nights.
One night though, she couldn't sleep.
She put her armor on and left the nest while her coatl was busy studying and wandered. She was not out for long before she heard her mate screeching. She ran as fast as she can back to the lair, where she saw Glint trying to escape. Behind her was Endo picking up her baby from the floor. The baby was too still and floppy.
Pyre saw red. She intercepted Glint and proceeded to attack. Glint screamed as Pyre jumped on her back and ripped with her mouth and claws at her wings. Leather ripped and feathers flew as Pyre shredded and dug. Glint's tail whipped over her back and knocked Pyre off, as she lashed out. Claws screeched down Pyre's armored leg, as Pyre jumped back. She heard the sizzle of acidic poison on metal, and knew she was not to let the Claws touch her. Glint hissed as Pyre evaded her Claws and jumped on her back again, avoiding anything that could be dipped in poison. When her wings and tail were sufficiently shredded, Pyre went for the neckline, pinning her down with a single bite from her powerful jaws. She saw the claws coming and dodged, pressing her foot down on Glint's neck and pressing down, pinning off her air supply. Pyre leant down and made sure she was listening, crooning softly in her ear that she was finished. She was exiled. When Modremoth came, the adrenaline was still pumping through her, and she turned on him for letting his mate get away. She snarled at him and screamed and pushed until he finally conceded. The traitorous cow was to be exiled. She will no longer fly or fight. Her only use now was to be bred like a cow and produce strong children for Modremoth. She had the lowest honour of any dragon.
Once that was settled and the cow was lead away in shackles, she ran in to check on Endo. He hadn't been touched, but the baby was still. Endo told her she was breathing, but she couldn't stay here. It was too dangerous.
Although it killed her to do so, she agreed. The child, her firstborn daughter, the future of the clan, had to go, lest she die by another's hand.
Endo took the child and went off into the night, as Pyre watched. She was asleep when he returned empty handed, armor still on. He took the armor off her and settled her down in her nest, and sat watch over her. Endo was not going to sleep tonight.

Part Seven: Morrow

She would never fight Morrow. She had delighted in watching him slowly decline these past months. He was been becoming dull and listless, and refused to talk to anyone except his wives. Pyre enjoyed watching the misogynist suffer. She didn't realise, however, how badly he suffered. When the dragons had been fighting in the coliseum, everyone willing grew stronger. She had even had a fight or two, when no one needed her. But Morrow never did. All the other imperial males fought it out except for him. So when she and the other Wildclaw male found his dead body in the Mire, she had no choice but to send his body to the Glademother in hopes she would give him the burial he, as a prideful, stupid male deserves.

It was a pity, really. She was so keen to fight him.

Part 8: The Departure

The first clan split had happened.

They left, so many of them. Including that cow, Glint. She's gone! Others left, including Lira, who was always kind to her and her hatchlings. Pyre would always respect Lira for her strength. Her two best fighters-in-training left too. Gleam and Tritea. She would miss the imperials. Other than that she had no idea who the others were. She had spent so much time lately in the Coliseum after she hired a third fighter. Now there was enough hands to train new guards to fight off the beastclans, and she could focus on training herself until she was at her prime. Life was good.

Endo had been taking over her government position as well, which pleased Pyre. The coatl had been growing stronger ever day, and could now speak with his own voice. Pyre was proud of him. He spoke with reason, and with a conviction that surprised her. He had truly grown well. He wrapped her wounds and fixed her splints, and Pyre had truly grown to rely on him.

Now was the time, the prime of her life. Years would pass and she would grow stronger, alongside her coatl man. He was her equal, though she could easily pin him down in a fight. He knew, and welcomed it.
Still no heir graced her nest. Pyre worried at the thought, knowing such an heir would have a large space to fill. The thought of her now grown daughter taking that space scared her, and she hoped her daughter was safe in her exile.

Part 9: Daughters

So much has changed.
And she's still queen.
The clans have chosen a name for themselves. The Tribe. Saying it made her feathers itch, and her back tingle. It was a good name.
Her clans had conquered more land for the Tribe, taking it from the weak and claiming it in her name. She was feared amongst her enemies, and respected amongst her allies. Oh, Nature was a cruel mistress.

Endo had changed. His fur had grown darker with age, and they spent less time together than ever at all. While he was a welcome assistant, she had grown tired of him. It would soon be time to change to a different breeding partner, one who could sire good, strong children. He needed someone more than her. The colours of the dragons that were residing here were suiting her well. Less garish blues and purples and more reds, and oranges. Browns that blended with the jungle, making it ever harder to their prey to see them. Just the way she liked it. She still preferred her blood red hide, and the colours her factions mark themselves with, but Endo was throwing vapid pinks and greys into the children. Not that it mattered anymore. Her line had grown weak, and Pyre suspected it was from her womb. The children withered and died, shattering Endo's heart.

Arming herself with the hide of her prey, Pyre loved the subtle withdrawal from the others as she passed. It made her grin in delight. She had amassed a few followers in her name as well. Daughters they were not, but fighters they were. Frisk, a hard nocturne, controlled the marketplace with an iron fist. Her keen eyes saw thieves and trespassers faster than anyone noticed their wallet gone. Her newly established jail was often full, which made Pyre proud. Frisk was a tough lady, capable of holding her own against the harder criminals.

The other was a little more subdued, but adored her and Frisk. Ebony certainly had a cruel streak to her, but hid it well. She worked hard herself, allying with the talonok when Pyre's attempts were less... diplomatic. With the corvid and tengu on their side, attacks from the air were eliminated. It only cost a few slabs of meat from their massive stores.
She'd trained both of her girls very well.

A new opposer has arisen, one keen on raising her own clan. This one smelled of Glint though, so Pyre did not trust her. The poison dripped from her talons, a clear battle cry waiting to happen. But, she kept her claws cheathed as her wit was the true opposer. 'Leader of the Swamp', she claimed. Enough, Pyre was sick of her already. Let Modremoth deal with that slimy old woman, Pyre wanted no part. Mordremoth can control his little factions, Pyre had her warriors. Though she might need to appoint a new advisor, a bodyguard to protect herself against any daggers in the back. Perhaps Endo might find her company too.

RELATIONS -

Endo
Companion
━━━━━━━ X ━━━━━━━━
Her comrade. Travelling with her after meeting her at a bar, Endo very quickly became Pyre's favourite. While she feels no stirring of innate attraction to him, she appreciates his company, and he knows how to calm her down just enough to think rationally. She relies on him as a friend, but often talks down to him, but he doesn't mind. he knows she loves him... even if it's just a little bit.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

13974326.png
Modremoth
Co-leader
━━━━━━━ X ━━━━━━━━
Modremoth is her co-leader, along with that filthy swamp rat. At least Modremoth smells nice, though she does not disregard Ursas's easy capability of casual murder. She's earned her respect, and so has Modremoth, but both for different reasons. Modremoth has remained steadfast for all these years against her, and Ursa... Ursamay have slappeed her in the face with a dead fish more than once.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

25850241.png
Loa
Second in command
━━━━━━━ X ━━━━━━━━
Another wildclaw with an uncanny knowledge of hunting and butchery, Pyre is close to her second-in-command. Loa is older than her leader, but still kowtows to her. While Pyre appreciates the respect, there's nothing she likes more than disappearing out the back with Loa and hunting something big and dangerous. At least she appreciates the feel of hot blood on her face. Pyre shares Loa with Endo though, like all wildclaws in the Tribe. Polyamory is a known trait.
