Despite her looks, Lazeh was a common-born water dragon. When a seer predicted she was the Catalyst, she became very attractive to the wrong dragons. As a result, she was chosen by the royal guard and trained to defend a queen. One night, she was drugged and kidnapped, where she woke up on a ship – bound and gagged. She was found by Axa after the ship was pirated, and idolised her skills with the cutlass. As the only other female ridgeback in the lair, Axa offered her the choice to follow her and change her name. She was in too much danger in her own lands. Lazeh agreed, and ended up here for her own safety under the guise of Chorus. Chorus never did well with secrecy – her size and beauty meant she gathered attention. So she decided to hide in plain view – She became a guardian for the Leader of the Tribe, Modremoth. Physically she is unnecessary, as Modremoth does not fight. However, she has a seat on the council, escorts him on his travels, and patrols the marketplace when unneeded. She trains under Pyre’s guidance, and strives towards an unobtainable goal of coliseum mastery - Level 25.

Darkness shrouded her sight. The encompassing air was ice cold. She could feel the frozen fingers of death slowly intertwining with the very core of her being. She was floating endlessly in a black bottomless abyss. She was alone, terrified, but resolute. If this were to be her end, then she would embrace it. There was no turning back, no regrets, and no future to hold onto. If this were to be her end, then she would be freed from her pains, her sorrows, and her demons. she was destined to die on this day. There, through the thick foggy darkness, a tiny illuminating orb blinked along like a firefly. It twinkled like a star, its silver colour growing brighter until she had to squint her eyes. The darkness that encircled it retreated from its bright life force, like its presence burnt. As it grew, she realised with a shiver just how cold she had been. It beckoned to her in a hushed, but angelic whisper. As it drew closer, a larger figure materialized into focus beside it. A spirit perhaps? No, it was something more, something powerful; a Guardian of Old. Tears of light ran down its cheeks, and its great many arms moved, twisting, plaiting, pulling and cutting strings of red. Two hands pulled strings till they were as fine as spiderweb, while two others still began to braid them together. The Guardian held Life within its palms. It leaned closer, offering her a single, dark red string. It had begun to fray at the end, but she watched as it braided itself back together. ""Your destiny does not end here, great warrior, but it begins. Rise to become someone greater. Rise to prove that you have the strength and will power to protect and govern a great, but long forgotten clan. Here, you will be reborn!” The old Guardian towered over her beaten figure. His very magical essence overpowering her own. She was cowed at his great presence. How could she, a simple guard, transform into something great? She had taken the lives of many that didn’t need to be taken -hatchlings, elders, and the like-, all in the name of our leader. She had aided in the annihilation of many clans neighbouring hers. She was nothing more than a mercenary. There was no amount of good deeds that she could do to atone for her sins. Before she could protest or agree, the Guardian of Old opened a clawed hand with its palm facing upward. A floating orb of light shifted and fluttered in sluggish movements until it hovered over the Guardian’s palm. “With your enlightenment, a clan of old is salvaged.” Twisting his hand so it rested over the hovering orb, the Guardian lowered the orb till it rested inches above her blood and dirt crusted chest. She could only watch in fear and wonder as the glowing orb absorbed into her chest. Pain flooded her body. Her form ached and her muscles tightened as rays of golden light beamed from her lifeless eyes and gaping maw. Light flowed like water out of her throat, taking with it the bitter taste of poison. The encompassing cold air was warmed. The darkness that once shrouded her dying figure gave way to blazing light. This was the new beginning to a new dawn. Lazeh watched with bleary eyes the light soak into salty floorboards. The lingering glow slowly revealed a storehouse, swaying gently like a ship. She was under a tight binding of rope. And above her stood a panting ridgeback soaked in blood. She sheathed her cleaver and looked down at the prone dragon. A smile flickered on her ruby red lips. “You look half dead.”
