B I O G R A P H Y

As annoying as other dragons found Yanira, she was oftentimes very useful. She’d yell to Milan the outcomes of her fights, the next time Julian blew something up, or when a new shop would find its way to the market. Each prediction, though shouted at the top of her lungs, was correct. Her voice was often raspy and shot due to all the screaming. Nevertheless, this led to a very prosperous clan, and Milan could not be more satisfied with Yanira’s prophecies.

But not all was wine and roses with Yanira. She wandered the Tangled Wood, on the brink of starvation, for months before stumbling across Milan. Even after the two met, trouble continued. Though Yanira was now going to bed with a full belly, the two were often chased by assassins and mercenaries sent by greedy faceless businessdragons. Yanira and Milan often attributed their status of being alive to Yanira yelling something about mercenaries nearby.

Yanira felt like she was more complex than dragons gave her credit for. She got irritated by her own yelling sometimes. She enjoyed a strong drink with Brooklian. Her favorite food was algaestriders. She gave in to sleeping in more often than she should. It’s not as if she had an actual job, though. All she had to do was shout the changing gem to treasure ratio and she was given all the fluffy pillows and steamy romance novels her heart desired. She kind of hated it, actually.

_Job Hunting_

____Yanira took work seriously. Despite not having any real work herself, she made sure everyone in the clan was doing the best they could at theirs. If they did not do a good enough job for Yanira’s standards, she took over herself. If you want the job done right, you do it yourself, after all. She would leave no corner unsweeped. She had always been a perfectionist and suspected she always would be. This, along with the constant shouting, made Yanira unlikable to most of her clanmates.

The clan had had enough. They were tired of having to deal with Yanira overseeing everything they did. Maruchan, blessed Maruchan, who hadn’t been around long enough to memorize the ropes, offered her a position at the Top-up Ramen Shop, sweeping the floor and busing tables. Yanira was tired of having nothing else to do than micromanage, so she took the offer and traded her armor for an apron. Since then, Yanira has significantly chilled out about everyone else’s work, much to everyone’s relief.

_The Profit_

____Money, money, money. Items and things. Sparkling jewels, luxurious fabrics, and decadent sweets. Yanira was living the life. Granted, she was doing it on the run, as others wanted her dead or captured for her prophecies, but at least she was running in style. Milan would ride on her head as she and Brooklian flew down the border between the Scarred Wasteland and Tangled Wood. Some things were lost in their flights, but they could always be replaced since the three had so much money between them.

Before the three had settled down and started Skyloft, Milan would consult with Yanira and then leave to play some very risky games of chance. She would come back with so much treasure she could barely fly under all the weight. This put more than just businessdragons after them. They had all kinds of sleazy cheaters come after them. But once word got around that Brooklian of the Merc Guild had joined the party, the surprise attacks stopped.
