B I O G R A P H Y
Yui carries her title of “Protector” with honor and pride, but the nickname was given partly out of reverence, and partly out of fear. She is shadowed by her past, not completely, but shadowed nonetheless. If she were to look behind herself, and squint slightly, she may see a restless ghost of a memory pacing in the distance. She prefers to keep her gaze forward. Yui can count all her friends in the world on one hand, as the first impression of many dragons is “cold, uncaring, and abrupt”. They would not be wrong, of course, the Clan protector certainly requires a few lessons in etiquette and tact (honesty is not always the best policy…) As a result, if one were to describe her as a season, they would most likely pick the dead of winter. When the temperature is at its lowest, the sun is out but bearing no warmth, and the skeletons of trees line the streets. However should they persist, and actually get to know her, they may be surprised to see her more as the border of spring. When the ice begins to recede, the gloves are taken off, and dandelions risk a peek through the snow. - - -

The smell of clean metal and lingering bamboo incense in the morning greeted Yui as she woke. The scarred nocturne uncurled with a stifled yawn. Yui's shoulder ached from the day before. She knew that telling a dragon to go, “eat his own tail” wasn't exactly the best idea when that dragon was a gigantic Imperial. However, Yui could not stand his attitude and he got what he deserved. She growled under her breath at the sting, and dressed in her armor.
____Trying to shoulder her weight onto one side without being obvious, Yui left her chambers to search for dangers in clan territory. Kiki especially often got into a lot of trouble, and since she was her charge (Yui had mimicked guardian behavior), Yui sought out the icy imperial first. All too often, Kiki would go on one of her gifting adventures, but today however, she was resting happily on bamboo reeds. The always smiling icy imperial swished her tail happily to and fro in greeting. ____Yui’s day after that was fairly normal: traveling around the clan territory, checking the border, and keeping it safe. Unlike yesterday, there were no border disputes, and soon the sun was about to set. After seeing that her charge was safety in her nest, Yui did one last perimeter sweep of the clan (then checked once more on Kiki), and headed to rest. The sweet bamboo stalk incense chased away her bad dreams and lulled her into her well-deserved sleep. |

____Yui is as enduring and deadly as the scars on her face and cracks in her teeth physically show. Unexpectedly melancholy and tough for her birth flight, most treat her as an epiphany of elements. She rarely ever conforms to the stereotypical behaviors of any single one. Sharp-tongued and quick to retort, Yui often partakes in many debates. Her most common partner in these small bouts are Monera, a Skydancer proving a worthy opponent in verbal disagreements and physical 'duels'. Many find the activity between them cheesy a lot like a play, but the pair seem to get a bit of fun out of it. Most would never know, though, given the most common expression shared between the two is a straight, angered stare.
