Few dragons can claim to revel in their element as much as Dubane does. He adores the sneakiness of his Shadow abilities, as well as the unease and wonder he can stir from other dragons. No one is quite sure why Dubane decided to take residence in the Den. The Pearlcatchers swear up and down that he is there for sinister reasons, and quite a few others would be quick to agree. Those few who do know him well are aware of his softer side, and that he only wants to bring some harmless excitement into dragons' lives. He and Prennia have frequent discussions on the topic over some tea.

Dubane, with his fellow Spirals, spends his nights entertaining whoever in the Den wishes to watch them. He uses his magic to provide effects and ambiance to Birch and Whispen's performances. He also performs parlor magic and occasionally some stage hypnotism, when someone in the audience is feeling particularly bold. Legerdemain despises Dubane's near exclusive use of his extensive elemental abilities for such banal tasks. To which Dubane responds by rolling his eyes. 		Opulent Nightshade Locket
