Biography

Tualvyl
The Cursed Dracolich- the fresh blood on those bandages is not his own.
Possible theme: Spitfire
[Very much a WIP]

___A flash of a furious expression crosses Xha'thal, and he turns his gaze from you slightly so as not to appear that it is directed to you, "I do not know who told you the name Tualvyl, or why. If you truly want to know who he is and why I fought so hard to kill him, then you will.
___"In short, he was an incredibly intelligent dragon with a dangerously keen eye that rarely made mistakes. Tualvyl carefully considered consequences of his actions, he knew precisely what his decisions would entail for both him and dragons around him. In battle making a defense against his attacks was like trying to fight back a stream. If I did not know him for what he truly was, I'd praise him as a genius.
___"Tualvyl was bloodthirsty, in the most literal sense I can place the word. He hated dragons with a consuming passion that drove him to attempt to become the sole source of our extinction. Tualvyl spent the entirety of his life conditioning himself to be the ultimate killer of anything that would dare call itself a dragon. He fought with intense ferocity to both be ruthlessly efficient and agonizingly slow in killing, as was situationally allowed. No doubt he would have torn his wings out of his sockets if he knew some way to leverage the disability to kill us all the faster. Because of him, dragonkind itself was beginning to become trapped with only extinction to come of it. Tualvyl was frighteningly close to doing precisely what he aimed to.
___"No method was too cruel and no power was too forbidden. He had no care for anything that costed him in the form of pain, or curruption. Tualvyl longed for the day dragonkind was dead so that he could tear his own throat apart.
___"He himself was a dragon after all, in his mind he deserved it.
___"Tualvyl is the reason that the dragons I brought with me have tragic pasts. In a way he was like me, as much as I loathe saying it. Filled with power not from one avenue but from all of them. He has forged disease epidemics, built corrupting curses on other dragons, manipulated a multitude into bloody wars and killed hatchlings still in their egg. Ahkauris' mother and brother, the attack on her from the creatures, Vestis' mate, and I even fear to believe he is behind the bloodlust in Eikre. His curse was only heartbeats away from turning him into a rampaging killer, a perfect tool to the destruction of dragons for Tualvyl.
___"Those are only condensed examples. What else he has done that I have seen I do not care to explain, and what I have not seen I do not care to know. He so savored the sharp roars of a dragon in pain. The sound of a screeching hatchling was only more sweet to his ears.
___"Somehow, I had been chosen to be at the center of all this. I had been dropped right in the middle of Tualvyl's efforts, made to be the one variable Tualvyl did not expect, and thus be able to kill him. Tualvyl was so cataclysmic that there managed to be tales of it already written."
Xha'thal pauses for a moment, turning his gaze behind you to watch Ahkauris humor a playing hatchling a distance off with a warm but subtle smile, "It really is strange. It was not even my claws to kill him. It was hers.
___"I was to be powerful, to have almost identical ability to Tualvyl so that I could compete with him. He had killed all the other dragons capable of that, all others that were of his age.
___"And that age was the advantage he still had that I could not beat. He was too ancient, his power far more potent than mine for that reason alone. I lost the battle, I was only a heartbeat from dying a bloody death at his claws.
___"Yet he thought Ahkauris dead. It was the one dangerous mistake he had made in a millennia. At least, the only mistake other dragons had the power to leverage. While he had me pinned, Ahkauris lept from behind and knocked him down. Before he had time to even think she had already torn his neck apart and broke his vertebrae.
___"It was done and Tualvyl was dead, and not even my claws. From that point on, the population of dragons that had begun to dwindle rebounded. "
A somewhat troubled manner over took Xha'thal and he dipped his head slightly, "It bothers me that I cannot convince myself that it was enough."

__From the start, Tualvyl was a dragon that already possessed traits with potential to make him into an almost systematic killer. A rare, horridly deadly venom hid in his jaws, injected into vein through long fangs at the very tip of his snout. His power is an almost unlimited one, tempered only by the most adamant rules of reality. There is little within his own imagination that he could not do, it came to him to be creative enough to find a way to get it done.

__The after effects of the venom in his jaws were recognizable despite its rarity. Using it would have clearly identified a dragon as the killer of another. So to Tualvyl, the only logical path of action was to use his claws to carve deep into his skull until he reached the glands responsible for creating it. He carefully scratched and cut at the glands until he minorly crippled them to the point that they created an altered form of the venom that, albeit weaker, was now unrecognizable in its effects and aftermath. Still, it was often fatal. Those that failed to resist it died a slow death with blood slowly oozing from each nostril. Those that did not had the strength sapped from their muscles and their mind fogged with a dizzy blur that made it difficult to see until the effects faded. With Tualvyl, however, that kind of recovery could never happen.

__Tualvyl had also seen fit to carve channels on the inner part of his teeth to allow for the flow of a choice liquid. This of course would rot the bone, so he would have to repeat the process whenever they were replaced with new ones. Regardless, he quite enjoyed using these in his killings. Ensuring that his fangs dug deep enough to pierce into flesh where a sizeable enough vein or artery was present, Tualvyl simply allowed the blood to flow through the channels and into his throat. While he couldn't drink all, the lesser amount of blood oft left a cleaner scene that was lesser identifiable as a kill done by a dragon. No bones were cracked, and there were few wounds in the scale. His ability to use this to mitigate any kind of detection was, of course, situational at best. Yet at his heart Tualvyl enjoyed this enough that he did it as often as conditions would allow.

__ Xha'thal, in a way, had a linekess to Tualvyl. He too had the same nature of power as Tualvyl, even the very same type of venom in his jaws. Xha'thal too knew how recognizable even the shape of the fangs of one with the venom was, and knew what it could mean if he were discovered. Where Tualvyl sculpted then by grinding them down to a different but still useable shape, Xha'thal, not caring to maintain such a deadly poison, simply snapped them out of his jaws. Aside from, of course, the darker curses, there was not anything Tualvyl could do that Xha'thal could not. The fire that burned in Xha'thal to defend dragonkind made him the perfect counter to Tualvyl's sheer strength and hatred. Yet Tualvyl was many centuries old and still had a potency to his power that Xha'thal could not yet compete with.

__As careful as Tualvyl was however, it was not long before he discovered Xha'thal's existence despite effort to hide himself. Immediately he began preparing for Xha'thal to fall into a rather fantastic death at Tualvyl's claws. Knowing Xha'thal had knowledge of his rampage was enough to ignite a particular fury in Tualvyl for him. Still, his caution was something he could not yet release. There were still more than enough dragons to turn on him and kill him if discovered, and secrecy was still key.

__However, Xha'thal still managed to hide a key detail. While Tualvyl knew who he was, he hadn't known that Xha'thal had the same venom and was thus immune. Breaking his fangs had not been wasted. Tualvyl did not learn of this until the last moment, when he had a bloodied Xha'thal pinned on his back underneath him. After injecting his venom, Tualvyl's guard dropped for a heartbeat when he had realized that his enemy was immune to his most base method of killing.

__While Tualvyl wasted precious time marveling at the dragon that had actually somehow tricked him, Ahkauris' leapt from behind to pin him down, another variable he wholly did not see coming. Through a strange string of events, both he and Xha'thal believed her dead. Tualvyl had not been watching the shadows. She hammered herself into his flank knocked him off her soon to be mate Xha'thal. With a vice-like grip she grasped Tualvyl's neck and tore it open while simultaneously twisting her head to snap his vertebrae into several pieces. Blood covered the entirety of her own neck in moments and Tualvyl's head dropped in death. The only claw Xha'thal had in that lied in his relationship with Ahkauris, driving her to save his life at the risk of her own.

__Yet neither of them knew just how far Tualvyl's preparation had gone. So many times Tualvyl had altered himself and Xha'thal had failed to see that Tualvyl had even managed to alter his death.

__So now he stands, his death triggering a curse he had placed upon himself to transform into a death-ridden dracolich. His once brilliantly reflective red scale has aged to a flaky brown. The reservoir of his venom has run dry and Tualvyl's shredded flesh around his death wound pale from lack of blood, rotted or otherwise. There is a distinct kink halfway down his neck where his spine turns at a sickening angle before continuing to his head. Tualvyl's eyes, black as Xha'thal's, glazed over like they had been since he had first died. The abhorrent stench of rot veils him and stains all other scent around him.

__This curse is corruption incarnate, and by it's very nature should be inflicting numbing suffering on Tualvyl's mind and soul. Tualvyl, however, is fueled by a hatred that makes him enjoy the suffering and savor the pain. He can still think and speak, his mind's intelligence unaffected and undistracted by what should be transforming him into a mindless undead beast. Already corrupted, instead of weakening him the curse compounded and supplemented his strength. The only change this brought about in him was a renewed and revitalized hatred, this time even bringing some adversion to all forms of life. Dragons, though, remain in his sights- now more than ever.

__Neither Ahkauris nor Xha'thal have yet seen him, but Xha'thal knows he is still a threat from a sense of dread brooding deep in his mind. Tualvyl has been hiding for many, many years- always waiting for the perfect opportunity to bring Xha'thal and Ahkauris down to a bloody death. They are the only two with claws that can peirce his hardened hide effectively and permanently, for they were only two with his blood on their claws when the curse triggered. To all else, he is an impenetrable dracolich with necromantic ability unnmatched. Tualvyl sealed his curse in his heart, since it is guarded by much bone and flesh it was the most logical location to hide the power that now drives him. Only the proper claws can pierce his heart and end him for the very last time.

__He will allow nothing to unravel his last chance to eradicate dragons.

Whoa....Tualvyl is intense *o* I really like how his colors complement each other! I also like how the genes make him look like a wild hunter. I particularly like that bronze rosette! The black and grey of the spots stands out incredibly well against the orange and I even love the fade to a lighter orange at the wings' borders c: The spots match the fluff that comes with his accent really nicely and both of those combined make him look like he has the composition of a feral beast! Speaking of the accent, I really love how this one brings so many different components into play. Not only does it put black fur on him, but it also gives him that gorgeous horn element, tail thorns, and even the pink candles/halo! It's really creative and makes Tualvyl look sinister. I think he looks great with his shadow eyes, but plague eyes would've been great too! His apparel is stunning! You chose pieces that not only complement his aesthetic, but also define him more without covering up too much of his genes/accent. I love the tatters the best, but the bandages grew on me as soon as I read that the blood on them are not his own! The only thing I can't see much of is his capsule, but I looked at a scry of him and man even that's beautiful! I love his familiar too!
As for his lore, I really like the concept of him being a dracolich. It gives the "you thought I was finished, but I'm back more ruthless than ever" element to his story. As with previous dragons I've reviewed from your clan, I really love how Xha'thal is telling us about him! I have to admit, my dumb self didn't know what a dracolich was at first, so when I found out he was killed I was shocked because I wasn't expecting that ^^; Though, once I figured it out (and confirmed with google), everything became clear. I greatly enjoyed hearing how Xha'thal and Ahkauris defeated him. The story was very brutal and you didn't skimp on the details. It clearly portrayed how absolutely evil Tualvyl was and the great extent of both his and Xha'thal's powers. I also loved the part where Ahkauris jumped in and absolutely demolished this guy! It shows how strong her relationship with Xha'thal is and makes me admire the two even more than I already had. The fact that Tualvyl's still about this earth due to his curse is just so unsettling. Knowing he's still capable of carrying out his plan...not knowing what's going to happen next or how he's going to attack...ah! There's lots of room for this story to continue and I'm excited for that! :D I also love how you described the effects of his curse turning him into a dracolich. From describing how his coloration is now brown to the description of his scars and stench...I could clearly see him! He's very menacing and I love him! Well, I mean I don't love what he's doing to dragonkind of course, but I love his character development xD Very well done with this guy! I especially love the horn element of that accent more now. Very dracolich! Plus that halo effect is fitting too since yenno he's technically undead and what not. 10/10 for this guy (and I must say you never disappoint me, the reviews are a pleasure every time :D)!
