- After a dragon mutinied against her father, she plotted to one day take the ship back for herself, to avenge her legacy. She succeeded.
- Once encountered two nymphs while she was on the sea
- During a skirmish between The Queen's Parda, a merchant cargo ship, and the Pearl, an unhatched egg somehow fell into the water and was retrieved by a dragon of Annova's crew. This egg, unbeknownst to her as the child of the Parda's captain, was taken as loot aboard the Pearl. The dragon inside it, Zarantra, has been adopted by Annova herself and raised aboard the ship.

Lovers:
- Torasha, the barkeep of her home tavern. They have both said that they would prefer to just be friends, but they somehow keep waking up beside each other every morning after their long benders.
- A bard dragoness named Sweetsong, who fell in love with Annova although it is obvious she does not reciprocate feeling.
- A ghostly quartermaster named Favor, with whom she met after their ships had a small skirmish.
- Zasral, the first mate of a ship who was resting at the same port as the Pearl for a night.
- Her ship's quartermaster, Silutha, who prefers to release her frustrations in recreational ways.
