______ Magic is a powerful force. It weaves and stitches itself into everything in the universe. The magic that ties things together in various forms eventually gave birth to solid beings of skin and blood and souls. Those beings, having been born from a strong source of pure elemental magic, created a world where they could be happy. That was when darkness crept its way into the magic and began to carefully take out the stitches, making the quilt of life loose. This darkness was the Shade. A creature of a different type of magic. Some scholars call it anti-magic, magic that doesn't have any real place among the living magic that had created the world and the deities and life. The Shade and the gods and goddesses fought viciously, until the Shade retreated into the darkness of the dark matter of space, hiding among a type of magic that was sluggish and slow, whose only purpose was to keep things together. The Shade watched the world evolve below it, the magic barrier blocking it. As time progressed, so did its power.
______ Creatures were born.
______ Creatures that were crafted from the dark magic that seeped through space with the one purpose of perhaps squirming past the barrier and into the world. The Shade didn't need its children, as the barrier was shattered. It attacked, and the world suffered. Thankfully, the gods and goddesses that had awoken rose once more to defend the world but they soon parted. The blame resting with them all. The Shade recognized that it could not defeat these powerful beings of pure magic alone, so it once again crafted its children in the image of dragons. Creatures that had been made in the image of the gods and goddesses who crushed the beasts beneath their claws. The Shade sent its dark powers down and the dark magic wormed its way into the bodies of young dragons and eggs. One of these eggs was nestled in the forest of the Shadow land. The egg that had passed away due to lack of love and care. The Shade child used this to their advantage, and soon, the long body of the serpent dragon burst through the gooey, moist shell.
______ She called herself Miracle. Her magic was already terribly powerful, posing a thread to anything around her. Yet Miracle was smart. She knew she had to learn the ways of the beast in this world to fulfill the wish of her parent. So she began to wander. Small and seemingly unprotected, creatures tried to devour her, only top find themselves melted into the ground in black goo that she added to her body. She grew with the nutrients of life and eventually became what was referred to as full grown in less than a week. Her powers grew as she did, until they were bursting at the seems. Knowing full well that she couldn't strut around with her powers being so obvious, Miracle crafted a costume, something to trick the feeble minds of the creatures on this planet. Clothing to mimic a witch. The monster she was hidden under the cloth. A perfect disguise for something with powers that challenged the darkness brought on by the Shadowbinder herself. The Shadowbinder had a comforting darkness, a darkness that shifted with the night to ease the stress of the day. Miracle was different. Her power was sick. It melted against someone's body and caused them to shiver, knowing that eyes were on them in the night. Causing that fear made Miracle's heart race.
______ In her journey out of the woods, to find a place where she could rest and practice her dark magic, Miracle met a small creature. It had tried to flee, to deliver a message to the Shadowbinder of danger, but the poor thing didn't get very far. The Sprite found itself in Miracle's claws, with the comforting darkness inside of it being forcefully replaced by the sick Shade. The Sprite maintained its natural looks, but its attitude changed. No longer was this Sprite a messenger or friend to the Shadowbinder. It worked for Miracle. The same fate befell a strange cat creature that tried to flee. With the companions traveling with her, Miracle knew she could find her way home, or, to some home. She began her journey once more and found herself at the sea. Curious how many dragons could live under the water. Miracle had no need for oxygen, so she dived her, her pets (which had lost their natural lives to her magic) followed without question. The Sprite began to search for a home and eventually found it. Miracle made her way into the clan, a smile on her face. They tried to get her to leave, not sure if she was friend or foe, but she stayed. She made her home just a little ways outside the clan grounds where she practiced her magic and infections. Her parent, her creator, would be happy with such creatures. All she had to do was to find a way to possess them as she did her pets. Dragons, however, proved more difficult. Oh well, there is no shame in waiting. There is no creature or magic more patient than the Shade.
