B I O G R A P H Y

There is a sense of hollowness that accompanied Sorrow, treading in the deep murk of his wake in slow, silent steps of a mourning spirit. His eyes carry a sense of anguish in their foggy depths of unfathomable intensity. He watches on as the grim guardian of the transient meeting between life and death, the flickering sadness that lingers in the soul. Visions manifest before him in the pale light of life straining to remain in this reality.

The outlines of the dead haunt him constantly, as they move and speak in their cycles of dying and resurrection--the rustling of leaves and thundering of the land as imperials fall to the ground and sinks into the flesh of an emperor, skydancers plummeting out of the air in a dissipated storm with their backs lacerated with beast clan scars, the wavering waters where drowning dragons reach out from the rushing depths. They are but memories that pierce his mind with the praying of desperate souls for a life that they cannot have back.

Yet, in times of listlessness, in times of intensity, Sorrow finds himself among the true ghosts. The nearly tangible, almost palpable echoes that watch him with curiously empty eyes and transparent bodies. Their words are not muted silences or formed in the rambling gasps of their final breaths, but are rather like distant calls from across a great divide, produced with a clarity of determination and marred only by Sorrow's mortal ears. It is in this trance that Sorrow reaches that cusp between life and death, light drifting slowly from his eyes and a numbness setting into his skin.

B I O G R A P H Y

He is always awoken with visions of the ashen face of Melancholy, whose murmurs draw him back to the world of the living. It is with Melancholy that Sorrow finds a reminder of life, a definite thread to existence. Her somber distance is what draws him awake, and his protection is what keeps her safe; she is the seer of the future, and he only sees the remnants of the past.

Sorrow will always fall to his knees to save her, bleed himself hollow for her. And he will mourn her with cold flesh and empty eyes when he finally sees her ghost.
