" ...like lambs to the slaughter..." It is the oldest philosophical question in Sornieth—what do hatchlings dream of? He believes he remembers. In the darkness of his egg, he saw radiant light and smiling faces, felt the warmth of dragonfire, and mirth of the windswept plateau. Dragons beckoned him onward with welcoming arms. Reality was different. The world he found upon breaking free and opening his eyes—it was gray and cold and dirty. He inhaled a chunk of cold ash and sneezed it out, gasping as the stench of decay filled his nostrils. The sky above was marbled with black-streaked clouds, the sun sinking into a moonless night. Beside him laid eggs not unlike his own, though crushed and cracked. Worst was the wind. Its insane gibbering scream in his ears, cutting his fragile scales to the bone. Instead of a mother or father to greet him, smoldering rotting skeletons gaped at him. Claws stretched wide before him. Where were the smiles...the kindness, the beckoning? There was nothing. But instinct in hatchlings is strong. He felt his paws go numb, his ears raked and razed by the wind. He desperately sought a warm cozy place though by now, he knew better. Finally, he cuddled up beneath a dead Guardian’s leathery wing. He tucked his nose against the lifeless leather. He wanted to sleep again. So. This was the world that awaited him. Cold, confusing, and stained with blood. .... "I have given everything to the clan... I've given you everything. And yet my suffering, my life, my blood, sweat and tears were never enough. You have fallen for the lies of the Usurper. He has fed you poison, and like lambs to the slaughter you've followed him blindly. He will not save you from the disease infecting the clan. " -- Knows far too much of the world to truly see past it's darkness - though he never really loses hope it makes many, including himself, wonder what he is actually capable of. • There has been several attempts to dethrone Llewellyn. She never far from Llewellyn, a dutiful companion • Bones, sunflowers, whiskey, brawling, mushrooms, forests, thunderstorms, campfires, raspberries, axes, freckles, bruises, thorns, paperwork, sheet music, pianos, moss, gadgets, sawdust, tobacco, smoke, candles, magic, tarot, broken statues, fresh baked bread, architecture. • hates the gods, can't swim very well, always losing his cigarettes but has a ton of lighters, doesn't trust goats, refuses to play piano so you can sing along, always looking for a good brawl and finds brass instruments annoying... |

They want to believe he is a statue of a god. But how can a statue be so tender, so caring? The sunlight glints off his scales, which are hard as marble, sending out solid beams of light. The twisting chiaroscuro hides an inscrutable heart caged up, bound up in bone, like the rest of the Warren.
His eyes glower and smolder beneath a ridge of hard brow. Like all else in this place, he knits together contradictions in his sinew, and lives and thrives off what the shadows reveal.
