Biography
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
A single egg had cracked open from that forsaken nest. Stranded in the midst of rosy crystals and tattered pastures, the newborn fae found no soul waiting for him once he was out of his shell. For nights and days did he patiently curl up in the remains of the unborn clutch, figuring that someone would eventually come across him. Yet, he’d only grown hungrier and lonelier. Only when all hope had escaped his diminutive frame, a far-off voice called out to him. And so he followed it with what strength he had left. The dragon wandered to a stygian well that pulsed with energy. Within it, he heard the dampened voice that led him there, as well as a cascade of deafening wails and desperate bellows. They cried out to him—offered a myriad of wishes if he would only step a little closer. In good faith, the stifled voice warned him. The fae, tempted by the well’s promises, slipped and tripped into its depths. He felt his body suddenly invaded by a preternatural presence, as if his soul had budged to make room for another. |

After a day’s worth of climbing its slimy, rock wall, the Wanderer managed to escape the well. The spirit that once communed with him now spoke in his very mind. Like a starved parasite, it had occupied him; it fended off the other ghouls seeking to consume him but, in exchange, became bound to him. As long as one lived, so would the other. This entity granted him the strength to move on and learn how to survive, though the fae soon relapsed as his conscience attempted to reject the thing in him. He was forced to make peace with the reality of his situation, lest he descend into madness… and other grim ends. Having turned into a successful host for the spirit, he became attuned to the magic and the paranormal. With his own claws he could wield newfound powers like a blade seamlessly cutting through soft cloth. As rumours spread of a mighty dragon secluded in the Starfall Isles, Wanderer was pursued by many opportunists who wished to use him as a weapon. He avoided civilisation in its entirety and found shelter in the darkness of the Starwood Strand. That is, until his path crossed with that of a jaded guardian’s, prompting them to savagely contest for territory. Their fray, unexpectedly, gave way to their first nest of three healthy eggs. |
