Tariqe is the sixth, forgotten founder of the clan, only those who were there in the beginning know it. In the early days of the clan, Tariqe was lively and social, and the sole defender of the clan long before Taika ever showed up. And as the clan grew, she was hailed and loved as one of the six founders. She lived happily like this for some years, but slowly a strange paranoia crept up on her. She began shutting herself in her den and hiding her face, claiming that something was hunting her. The paranoia drove her mad, eventually leading her to scream at and rabidly attack anyone who entered her den. The clan did everything they could to help her, but nothing seemed to help, and too many dragons were getting injured. One night, Tariqe fell silent, and left her lair in the same tattered hood she had put on moons ago. The clanmates who saw her said her eyes looked empty, and she seemed not to hear what was spoken to her. She was an empty husk of the dragon she used to be, without need to even eat. Izar, who faintly remembers the days when Tariqe was a loving defender of the small, says whatever was hunting Tariqe finally found her and took her. But she is no longer violent to her clan, and they suspect that the old defending heart of Tariqe still remains. Ever since then, she leaves her den a little after sundown and patrols the tunnels of the lair, always returning before the sun rises. On the patrols, she whispers a strange tongue as she walks, and has been seen battling shadowy figures on the edge of the firelight. The dragons usually assigned to night shift have stopped going out, afraid of the wandering dragon and whatever she battles. Very few in the clan are brave enough to be out past sundown in fear of running into her, but dragons like Arc and Marmalade, who remember the old days, sometimes join her on her patrols, just to keep her company. When they do, they can see a little of the old Tariqe, still in there. She doesn't look around so fearfully, cocks her head in the direction of the one talking to her, and stops to wait for the accompanying dragon if she gets ahead. The other five founders still look desperately for a way to bring their old friend back, but as more and more attempts are failing, they are slowly losing faith. The hatchings are taught to beware of her, but not to fear her. The clan now sees that she protects the clan from a different kind of threat now, warding off malevolent spirits and protecting her clan.
