xxxTheme song: Ain't it fun?
Battle theme: Insert song name here
Cindy is a dragon who owns a little dark-colored cottage, located somewhere in the inhospitable fortress of ends. In that little cottage, she occasionally houses guests- dragons who have gotten lost during a snowstorm, or collapsed due to the extreme temperatures. At first glance, she seems like a normal skydancer- her kindness warm and inviting, though she keeps her distance.

However, this kindness will turn to cruelty when one gets too close to her.

Once… in a distant past Cindy was a knight of a clan in the viridian labyrinth- freed from imprisonment as a child and protected by the clan that had aided her escape. Its leader was a benevolent male- maybe not the most charming or tactful, but with a heart greater than his body. From a young age, Cindy admired him, and wished to work in protecting this home alongside this benevolent leader. She worked hard- pushed herself further than most did, and eventually she became the third in command- her leader proud of her.

For years Cindy stayed there- happily doing her job of protecting the clan, freeing prisoners and fighting battles to both defend her home and show their opponents that her clan wouldn’t fall. For years, she was oblivious to the darkness that grew and contaminated the clan.

It began in an unusual way- another clan formed an alliance with Cindy’s clan- it’s leader was a charismatic, brave and intelligent man, prefering mindgames, blackmail and manipulation over bloodshed and battle. More and more dragons in Cindy’s clan felt like this charismatic stranger was a better leader than their current leader, and slowly but surely the once benevolent leader began to succumb to envy.

It started with small, snarky comments- uncommon, but still slighhtly out of character for the calm and loveable leader. Cindy tried to tell herself that perhaps her leader had a few off days- anyone could have those. But soon it grew beyond just those few days, and the once benevolent leader became a cruel tyrant, imprisoning all he thought would ‘betray’ him- or doing far worse…

Cindy- though still stuck in her shock (̢̡I̶҉t̨҉̀͠ ̵̡̡h̴̷́a̵͢͜d̷̛ ͜҉͠h̵̨͡a҉̵̀p̶̵̡͡p͏̡ę͡n̵̷é̶d̢͟҉͢ ̶̵̵͟ś͟͞ò̸́̀͟ ̴̨̀͡f̛͏̸͢͠ą̶s̴̛̕t̛͘͠͠.̷̸͢͝͡.̵͘͏͟.̡͝͏̷)̴͜͢͡͠ joined another knight to warn the allied clan and beg for aid. The other leader may not have prefered bloodshed over reason- the warriors, knights, archers and mages of the allied clan were incredibly powerful.

Before the two could make it far, a patrol had spotted them and sounded the alarm. Cindy chose to stay behind to fend off all who’d follow them, and did a pretty good job holding them off.

Until the corrupted leader himself appeared.

Cindy tried to reason- tried to snap her former mentor and friend out of whatever had taken a hold of him- but when one cries into the abyss there will be no answer.

The skydancer managed to escape- though not without injuries.

The allied clan- as soon as they saw what had happened to Cindy and how the clan she came from had gone from a pacifistic clan thriving off of trade to a militairy force led by a ruthless tyrant they deicded to act.

The battle was unlike anything Cindy had ever seen….

There was so much blood…. So much pain and suffering… so much death…

Cindy encountered her former leader in the mids of battle, and wasted much less time trying to reason with him, fighting like she had never before in order to down the monster that had destroyed the once thriving clan.

Sadly for Cindy this monster was far stronger than her, and it wasn’t long before she had been left unconcious, her last thoughts being of how this would be her death.

She… did not die.

She woke up in the same cottage she currently resides in- a letter informing her that her former clan had been send into exile in the fortress of ends- and that she was the one who’d have to make sure they would not leave. Not believing what she read, Cindy headed outside.

Only to see it was true- there was snow and ice everywhere, the winds howling. Cindy quickly closed the door again, opting to stay inside and wait.

A week or so passed, and a dragon from the once allied clan came over to deliver food. The dragon looked at the skydancer as if she was filth, but told her more about what happened after she lost conciousness.

Apparently the clan had been rounded up in its entirety and forced to travel all the way from the viridian labyrinth to the southern icefields. Many had not survived, which the other deemed ‘only fair’.

Cindy snapped and tried to attack the other, but was easily beaten. She’d grown weaker- lighter in weight and her skills as a fighter had grown rusty. The other dragon hissed that she was only kept alive because she aided his clan in conquering the land Cindy’s former clan had owned, and left with that.

After that encounter, many days were spend wandering around the frozen hellscape her clan had been exiled to. Unlike her, these dragons did not have much protection from the enviroment, and every day more and more would perish.

The last one to go was ironically enough the leader- who pleaded and begged for Cindy to aid him in his escape, as how he had once freed her. Cindy felt nothing, she just watched as slowly but surely the cold and the winds killed the man she had once admired and trusted.

After that vile man was gone, the dark-winged skydancer thought she’d be okay- that she’d be abke to move on. She took the little cottage and made it more her home- made it feel like a place where one would be able to comfortably live.

She met the first dragon she kicked out while renovating the place.

The smaller dragon had passed out in the snow, and Cindy took him in. She helped him get his strenght back, and spend quite a bit of time talking to him. For a while, all was right.

But then paranoid thoughts began popping up, and the skydancer began to question when he’d betray her- when this stranger would turn on her and attack. She couldn’t sleep- couldn’t eat knowing there was someone else nearby who knew too much about her. And so, she told him to get out.

Not understanding, the other dragon asked if she wanted to leave WITH him. Cindy told him he had to go, and that she’d stay where she was.

However, the other dragon had grown to care- had grown to wish for the skydancer not to be alone any longer, and insisted she’d follow him.

In an instant the other had been thrown out- bleeding from a deep gash in his arm. The stranger fled, never to come back.

Cindy felt terrible- felt like she should pursue the other to apologize.

She also felt as if this was… right…

No one… no one would be able to hurt her again like this, or betray her. With these conflicted emotions, Cindy closed the door and went to her nest.

She would not make the same mistake again: She would distrust all those she met. No-one would be able to hurt her again.

Despite this choice, there are a few things Cindy cannot chance- she's lonely, she wished for company and she will never stop protecting those who need it, despite hating her impulsive nature when it comes to helping others.

Her choice was made final when one day she kicked out an oracle who had been getting 'too close' to her- and told her the following prophency before leaving:
Quote:
"When cruelty is destroyed by kindness,
roots of fear turning into despair
You will find an ending story
In a devil's lair."

Cindy... did not take this prophency well and vowed to steer clear of most dragons, and kick them out even sooner.

Basilides: Cindy, why do you always cry when you're angry?
Cindy: Because I've realize that it's illegal to murder you, and that's VERY frustrating.
