Biography

Arati
• Sentient blessing
xxxTheme song: Dear's の花
Battle theme: none yet

Created from years of ritualistic blessings, Arati was an unseen force, protecting families and lairs with nothing but gentle intentions. They loved their ‘creators’ like they were their parents-though the ones who gave Arati something resembeling life were unaware of the entities existence. The being preferred it that way, and for thousands of years they kept peace, and protected ‘home’.

Though, as times change, good things come to an end.

Being an entity born from the love for family and desire to protect one’s homestead, Arati never had to face the potential dark, cruel and downright evil side of family. They never had seen the cruel acts parents commit, nor how their offspring would retaliate with murderous intend. Family is safe, family is warm. Family is love.

Until it’s not, and blood is shed.

Not knowing how to deal with it, Arati hid, though nothing could shield them from the arguing, the fighting, the sound of glass shattering and the blood dripping down.

They were so…. So scared. Why weren’t mom and dad happy? Why did brother and sister hurt so much? Why did mommy have to die?

It hurt… It hurt… It hurt...

Eventually only ruins were left. Arati’s ‘family’ was gone, and their home was destroyed. The hidden protector of that home and family had lost both, and they were… lost…

The entity cried out for someone...anyone… to stay with them, to build a new home so they could be a part of a family again. They’d give anything just to have a family again, but no one heard their cries, wails and sobs- no dragon could perceive the entities presence, so no living being ever answered the call.

However, other magical entities are an entirely different story.

Hundreds of years may have passed, and the entities cries had never once stopped or faded, and finally, someone answered them- a being who’s age rivaled those of some of the deities, powerful and wise beyond draconic comprehension. The older being offered words of comfort, and finally, someone showed Arati some love. The entity which had once been lost was taken under the older one’s wing- taught how to take a physical form, how to let other dragons see them and the importance of never revealing to them what Arati truly was. They’d fear the entity- take away his sentience and ‘life’ at worst. The world was far from safe for beings like them.

So… the older being offered him a new home, a new place to have a family, and to truly be a part of it this time. Arati wanted to accept, but before he could the older warned him.

This family did not feel like he did- Arati had fed and grown on the emotions of love, joy, affection, sorrow and grief, and as such learned to feel them. To gain emotion is a task that takes ages for magical entities, and while Arati had gained quite a lot, he did not feel everything- and his future family felt even less. There was a chance this family would be violent towards each other, but the older being believed that with enough work, they could truly become a loving one.

The question was: Was Arati willing to risk it and put in the work…?

Yes.

Yes they were.

They were willing to abandon everything for their new ‘family’. They’d do anything to make sure they’d be happy, and they’d absolutely make sure that none of them would ever be hurt.

Time went on, hundreds of years passed and Arati steadily saw his family grow and change. His siblings were like him- alive, but not really. They were powerful magical entities, born from thousands of years worth of curses, blessings and rituals. They were mighty- able to rip the world to shreds if they worked together, but they were docile- not willing to risk exposing themselves, or kept in their home trough other means.

Still, Arati doesn’t care, they love their new siblings, who have given them a sense of purpose and identity and who will never die or abandon the sentient blessing like their old family did.

And with the arrival of their new mother, their family seems complete.
