After an interesting and mildly concerning talk with the leaders of the Galestorm Flyers, you are released to explore the rest of the Platforms on your own. To the immediate right and floating slightly above the leaders platform is a slightly sloped and significantly smaller one. As you alight on it, you find it is a rather quaint place. An elegant but small cottage rests on the highest point, its thatch roof matching the stone walls quite nicely. The rest of the space is claimed by an assortment of things, many of which seemed to make noise or produce wonderous scents. Small pinwheels poke up through the expansive and colorful garden, windchimes dangle from a carved bamboo structure, and there is what appears to be an entire pit of rocks. As you look around, a green and grey Mirror dragon slips out of the cottage, striding towards you with confidence.
”Greetings, I am Eretham, son of the King and Queen and prince to this clan. I suppose you are a visitor to the Flyers?”

Eretham is the sole ruling heir of Nantis’ and Elspeth’s clutch, though there have since been others born that have since left for one reason or another. His clutch sister, Nyleya, was given the opportunity to rule as princess to the Flyers, but found that being in command was not her calling and chose to venture into the world instead. Soon after Nyleya left, Eretham began his training, though there was little he could do at his age. His parents had forbade him from learning to fight until he was older, leaving him to focus on diplomacy and hunting skills, his specialty being the latter. His days were filled with learning, and the young Mirror found himself aching for a friend to stay by his side. Even with Hellebore’s appointment as his retainer, Eretham felt lonely.

When the first Novlas Dies festival came, Eretham found who he was looking for in Themis, the Nocturne that hatched that festival, completely blind. A friendship quickly blossomed, and soon enough, Eretham and Themis could be found together nearly every hour of the day. Sometimes Eretham would be waxing poetic about the sighted world, sometimes they walked the lair together, sometimes Themis explained how he perceives things in the world. It was clear to both Nantis and Elspeth that Themis was a close friend and a good influence on Eretham, as he would often calm Eretham when the Mirror’s emotions got the best of him. With that in mind, the King and Queen declared Themis Eretham's official retainer, as the Nocturne was significantly more level headed and could manage diplomacy with greater tact than Eretham. Not long after, the two officially became mates.
Eretham began more rigorous training with Themis by his side. Elspeth taught him to battle and hunt, using his size and speed to his advantage. Meanwhile, Nantis taught him the strategic aspect of running a clan, walking him through the problem solving and diplomacy he used everyday. At the time, most of Eretham’s day was taken up training to be a king, but he still rather enjoyed the comforting talks with Themis and the long walks the two went on when things were quiet. Eretham had no fantasies of escaping the life of a king--and no real want to either--but is content with being second in command, assisting his mother and father while protecting and guiding the Flyers until he is needed for more.

When the Flyers moved to the Windswept Plateau, Eretham found himself rather relieved--he shared his father’s weariness of war, though more due to the immense social responsibility it placed on his shoulders. With the clan less focused on production and delving more into the finer arts, there were fewer battles to be waged, particularly with regards to their new environment. Suddenly, Eretham found himself with great swaths of freetime, able to leave most of the kingly duties to his father. He quickly took to spending this time with Themis, focusing on his own follies of life. Eretham still practices and perfects his fighting and hunting skills, but relishes in the lower stake hunts he goes on with his mother and their pack now. Often, he can simply be found relaxing on his island, curled up with Themis. Eretham continues to help manage the clan and it’s affairs, though quite enjoys the more open schedule he gets now.

A good description of Eretham is that he is truly both his mother's and his father's child: kind with a tenacious streak and a temper. He seems to have inherited the kindness in his heart from his father, as he always wants to assist and protect his clanmates regardless of the cost. However, his temper and lack of patience will often take over his actions, and he will end up offending someone in one way or another--a trait he inherited from his mother. This is where his retainers--both Themis and Hellebore--come into play. Hellebore pushes Eretham to decisions he needs to make, but is also the defense against enemies attacking her Prince, should he find himself physically overwhelmed. The prince himself often finds her presence nagging rather than reassuring, despite her attempts to seem otherwise. Themis is the one who will advise and guide Eretham through diplomacy, always with a kind voice and calming words. Eretham takes comfort in those words and will try his best to follow them, as he trusts Themis with his very soul.
The relationship between Themis and Eretham is more than just that of comrades and clanmates, having been built on a trust to never lead each other astray, both literally and metaphorically. Eretham shows Themis the world as seen by his eyes, usually by the way of words, creating rich verbal pictures for his husband to “see”. Themis shows Eretham the world he “sees” it, sometimes through touch, sometimes through quiet expression. Eretham values the patience that Themis always has with him, and admires the love he holds for a world that could so easily forsake him. There is never a moment Eretham is unwilling to express his love and adoration for his mate. The prince's relationship with the rest of the clan is a relatively good one, as Eretham himself is a calm presence and a kind dragon at heart. However, he is still not a true leader and is not always the most calm dragon, which leads to some tensions between him and his clanmates. Though the clan trusts Eretham to attempt to do the right thing, there have been moments of doubt in his orders when anger clouds his mind. Some, such as Helios and Askan, still harbor a grudge with the Mirror and often question his orders, which only serves to infuriate the Mirror more. Thankfully, between Themis’ calm presence and Themis’ efforts to work out the differences, there have been no drastic spats between the clanmates.
