My name is Yen. I was born to serve, to fight, and to lead an army against the Beastclans. My parents had me and my brother to serve the Plaguebringer! My father is in service to the Icewarden and my mother is not. My father came to my mother to make children and only for that reason. My brother Jinx was exalted to the great and mighty Plaguebringer to serve her. I however, ended up sold as a slave. After being sold several times I found myself in front of Scrubbie, one whom I would soon call my friend!

Nowadays you can find me in Scrubbie's Coliseum party defending the Sanctuary as the Master-at-arms. I will never forget my past for it makes me who I am today. Is there is a special someone in my life? Yes, but I will not tell you about that since I need to protect her as best as I can. She will remain a secret for all time, except for those who are smart enough to find her.

One of my jobs is to keep all of Scrubbie's dragons in top condition. To do this they all must train with me in the Coliseum. Most don't make the cut and would rather be exalted. There are those few that Scrubbie brings to me that I have come to respect and would gladly battle with any day. Louis came here already at a high skill level. He and I have become what I have never known: best friends.

Also I was Scrubbie's first dragon she ever leveled to 25. Now I am in charge of that task. Back when we first met after I came out of my shell she sparred with me herself. I have never seen anyone, human or dragon ever so brave and fearless around me. Deep in her eyes, I saw something I have never seen before in my life. Trust!

On the day I hatched, my parents were hoping for some amazing warriors to come out of the two eggs that they were caring for. As I blinked to adjust to the light of my new life, I looked up to see my new parents’ loving faces. However, I was met with hardened stares and looks of satisfaction that were not directed at me. Rolling over, I saw that I had a sibling; a brother.

My brother stretched his wings in the nest beside me and my parents gave his already-strong body praise, devoting himself to the Plaguebringer’s service for life. I looked up at my parents again with fear in my eyes, their gazes resting on me yet again. They said a lot of things I didn’t understand yet, but said I would be sold to anyone who needed a warrior to train and exalt to their own lords.

Years passed and my training grew ever harder, but I overcame it. Learning to fight and passing from clan to clan, I closed myself off to the world. There was no hope of anyone truly caring for me. I was no more than a tool that was good at what it did. A lot of my skill came from my lack of care, as I could not feel anything I fought.

Scrubbie found me among a sale yet again and took me home, having paid for my freedom from the horrible fighting that I had learned to accept as my only life. She left me to myself and didn’t bother me much, knowing I wasn’t good at opening up to others yet. I was allowed to train as much as I wanted, and my hardened ways emblazoned the Thylacine stripes upon my wings and back. After some time, Scrubbie asked me to be Head of Security for her Sanctuary, praising my new battle-ready look, and I humbly accepted.

Now that I have been around others who show kindness and love, I’ve gained a sense of family and I’m much better at opening up to the dragons around me. To keep myself humble and remember the gift of freedom that I have been given, I still keep my slave shackles on, and pride myself on the warrior I have become. I now defend my family with the skills I worked so hard for.
