Intro:

I don't really like talking, but if you need to know I guess I can tell you what I do around here. I am Mercury so named for my metallic attributes. My tail is completely mechanical, as is the runes on my body. The Runes brightness determine my level of power. Biologically I am still a dragon, but have several upgrades if you will. I am a warrior at heart if not I would not have survived to tell you about my history.

My cheeks have pockets that are full of liquid mercury venom that gives me a deadly bite to my enemies. This is something I have had to learn to control and live with. In Scrubbie's Sanctuary I am a warrior, once I got here I met Yen and I instantly became defensive and ready to fight feeling my venom surge in my mouth. Training under Yen has not been the easiest task, but I have promised myself that one day I will challenge him and beat him.

My mate, I brought with me from that dark place in my past. I don't wish to share too much of her story its hers to tell, but be easy when asking her, she is stronger than she looks but has gone through a lot in her life.

Backstory

As a hatchling I lived peacefully with my parents, brother, and sister and life was normal. Until one night I woke up to a noise outside of our nest. Rolling over I sleepily, looked up and everything went black. Stuffed inside what I guessed was a bag I tried to yell for help when I blacked out.

Waking up again, I was in a cold, dark room laying on a hard floor. My tail wouldn't move very well, so it dragged painfully on the floor as I got up and tried to feel my way around the small room. Walls and the floor felt like big stone rocks close and unforgiving. A bright light flashed around what I finally saw as a door and the door slammed open scaring me into a corner. Painfully I tried to hide my tail and my sides screaming in pain. A black male Ridgeback walked in and dragged me out of the room.

The next few years are a little fuzzy, but I remember needles and passing out over and over waking up in pain and scared. I do know that he removed my tail and replaced it with a metal one and he changed how my skin heals. I overheard him talking that he added a metal alloy to my skin and now its shiny, but a lot stronger than it used to be.

One day as I was left in my dark room to eat when a storm blew in and I could hear the building creek and rock back and forth. The shifting was so extreme that the door loudly broke off the latch and swung open. I figured that the Ridgeback was returning early, but no one came in. Hours I laid there waiting until I finally got curious enough to peak out into the hall. The hall was empty and no lights either, so I walked out of my little room for the first time on my own. The storm raged outside as I checked every room in the building looking the one who kept me here.

I walked to what looked like the front door and found it had collapsed and all you could see is the Ridgeback's head his eyes open with a blank stare. Then I knew I was free at last. Escaping the forest surrounding that dark place is a story left for another to tell.
