Intro

"SHHHHH I am hiding! I don't guess you have heard of hide and seek have you? What you want to hear my story? Well I have to be quiet or they will find me."

I am Zac and I found this place by following Scrubbie home one day. I don't think she knew I was following her but if she did, I don't think she would tell me. I came here because I hoped to find valuable gems and treasure here and once I found all I could carry I was going to leave. Well I was so surprised when I arrived. Everyone was so happy to see Scrubbie welcoming her home and asking how she was. I have seen this behavior before and I didn't understand why the dragons cared about her so.

I decided to stay lurking in the rafters of the old building, watching everyone and their daily life. I slowly got braver and crept closer and closer, wanting to see more secretly wanting to be accepted in this what I can only call a family.

One day I hopped from one rafter to another watching quietly I slipped and fell scraping my wing on the old wood. Expecting to hit the ground I braced myself, but landed somewhere soft. The dragon I had come to know as Annabelle caught me in her arms holding me tightly. Shocked, I silently look up at her and she tells me it's about time I joined the family. I couldn't believe it had she known I was there the whole time?

Taking me to a different room as I knew as the nursery a beautiful white and black dragon rushed over to me fussing something about that someone should have said something sooner that it was only a matter of time I got hurt. Pouting I looked down sad I was so obvious when lurking even though I had always been proud of being so sneaky.

After Yang fixed my wing Annabelle told me she could read my thoughts as soon as I arrived and that I was accepted as soon as opened my heart to her family. From then on I was accepted by everyone as their little brother spoiled by everyone as so I am told. I love going from room to room and causing mischief and even sneaking out with the coli team to hunt down some treasures for myself. I hope Scrubbie never finds my sleeping place where I keep all my treasures.

Backstory

One sunny day in the Everbloom Gardens a nest was being warmed by the bright sun. In the nest 4 large eggs nestled together all shiny and bright while one very small bumpy egg lies beside them. Today is the day the eggs are to hatch. Shadowed figures watch the nest as the eggs start to move. All at once the 4 eggs crack and baby dragons peek out and start to dry by the burning sun. The little egg, however remains still. Hours later the little egg moves and slowly a hole breaks in each egg. Out of it came some of the most amazing red, blue, and green colors sparkling in the sunshine.

Growling could be heard shortly after. The little baby shaking in fear looking around trying to hide. A roar sends the hatchling running terrified into the tall grass. Hours he spent hiding there and he hears voices of relief so glad he was gone. That he was an imperfection, a mutation, a mistake. Tear stains the babies face as he walks away trying to find his bearings in this new world.

As Zac grew, he stole to survive. Starting out trying to steal food being beaten every time he was caught only made him more determined to get better. Months pass and now being able to feed himself well he starts to steal books and scrolls wanting to know why he was the size he was never growing never getting any bigger than his baby form.

Slowly day by day his mind grows, learning about his mutation stunting his growth, learning about some of the most famous thieves in the world and decided if the world will not accept him then he will make his own rules. Always looking for rich dragons and people he would follow them picking their pockets or stealing from their homes or nests trying to just survive.

One day a female warrior crosses his path and she smelled of wealth and something else he couldn't put his paw on. Following closely, he never gets close enough to pick her pocket, but keeps his distance, knowing there was something bigger and wealthier to this human than just money. In no time Zac found himself in front of Scrubbies Sanctuary. Making the decision that will change his life forever, he climbs into one of the windows and enters the building.

I think Scrubbie knows about my sneaking out with the coli team but I thank her for letting me with bringing her back bags and jars of treasure to send with her letters to all the hatchlings of the Sanctuary when we receive any.

Rides up on the back of the curious kettle ringing the doorbell happily waiting my scales shining brightly and can hardly wait to see who opens the door. For a moment I think back to my family at home telling me how little I am and how worried they are for me to go out alone but I am brave and not afraid! But I knock on the door and wait hardly able to stand still.
