Captain of the Hangman's Noose, a ship that once was one of the most feared vessels among the seas. Both she and her crew were known for their merciless rampages and plundering. Widow always kept to her headstrong ways which eventually led to her crew's demise. Now in her afterlife, she and her crew sail the skies on her ghostly vessel, are they running towards something... or away from it?  
Not much is known about Widows early life, some say she was thrown into the sea as a hatchling, others believe she was born to it. Needless to say, Widow belonged to the waters, despite being a ridgeback. At a young age, she found her way to the Hangman's Noose and conned the captain of the ship to let her stay aboard. From there she worked her way up to first mate then eventually mutinied against her beloved captain to take over. The fight was bloody and many lives were lost, only Widow and a few others made it out alive, but victorious. From there Widow built a name for herself and her crew, eventually becoming infamous. She was known for her savage nature and lust for all that glittered and when she heard rumors of a powerful sea witch who sat on top a mountain of sunken treasure, she and her crew set out to find them. Little did she know this would be her downfall... After months of searching for the so-called sea witch, Widow and her crew had finally located her. It was surprisingly easy to capture the witch, perhaps a little too easy. But getting the witch to spill the secret whereabouts of the treasure was another story. Now, this is where the story gets blurry, as Widow seems to tell it differently each time. Widow says after months of trying to get the witch to tell them the location of the treasure the witch had finally had enough of being a prisoner aboard their vessel and summoned a great storm which destroyed their ship and left Widow and her crew to be at the mercy of the seas. Widow says it took weeks for her crew members to all pass away and says she was the last to go, she believes they remain ghosts, tied to their ship for all eternity because the witch must have cursed them before disappearing... The captain also says she and her crew are constantly on the move as they wish to find the witch responsible for cursing them so that they may finally be put to rest, though no one is sure if she is really telling the truth... From time to time Widow and her crew stay at the Crooked Inn as it is a wonderful place to get some good rest before heading out for another long journey. She also see's that her crew enjoys what the Inn has to offer. Though while they stay at the Inn her crew has been known to break a lot of things, they simply aren't the best guests but are welcomed none the less. |
Fun Facts:
Widow is actually Macbeth's mother. Macbeth was her firstborn who Widow left to live a life at sea, for many years Macbeth had hated her mother but after becoming a vampire things that happened in life seemed to matter to her less. One day the two met once again at the Inn when Widow came in with her crew, but it's been so long that the two of them have forgotten who the other is.
