Math may have been a prince, but that doesn't mean he was treated like one. Most of his brothers and sisters were sent off to serve the Icewarden, and those that didn't were expected to go and find another clan in which to live. Math didn't want to do either of those things. He didn't want to go serve the Icewarden for the rest of his life, but he didn't want to leave the clan either. Like his mother, Math was a skilled fighter and could read other dragons energies easily, but his mother didn't need another son in the clan, so she sent him away to go find another clan to help. Reluctantly, he departed, and searched for a nearby clan to assist. He didn't want to be too far from his mother and his home, so staying in a nearby clan seemed to be his best option. None would take him in. Ice clans are secretive and distrustful of outsiders, even other Ice dragons, and finding a nice clan who would accept him was nearly impossible. Eventually, he decided to forgo finding a nearby clan at all, and set out in earnest to find a new home. The journey to the mainland was hard, but eventually he set down on the warm shores of the Ashfall Waste. The Fire flight was the exact opposite of the Ice flight. They were warm and welcoming, expressive and passionate. The native coatls were hard to understand, but the other Fire dragons would translate for him. They told him of a recently attacked clan by the Water border, desperately in need of help and supplies. They were known for accepting new dragons from any flight, even the Plague flight, and it was this that got them attacked.

Armed with his sword, he bought some supplies and set out to find this clan. When he arrived, he could tell that they were struggling. Crops were strewn throughout the fields, burned and rotten. Many dragons were injured. Many others were dead. He introduced himself to the matriarch, and she immediately accepted into the clan, just like that. He then got to work. The seers blamed themselves for not seeing the attack, the defenders blamed themselves for not being more alert, and every other dragon blamed themselves for everything else. Using his skydancer abilities, Math did his best to comfort all the grieving dragons. In between salvaging food and rebuilding tents, he was talking to the bereaved clan members and helping them heal. Out of all the dragons he helped, it was Samael that needed his assistance the most. Her own daughter had sacrificed her life in order to save hers, and now her one beloved child was gone. Math helped her as much as he could, but it would take much more time for those wounds to heal. Now he is known as the clans unofficial therapist, and he takes his job very seriously. Like all the dragons in the clan, he helps in the fields, but when he isn't working the land, he listens to all the dragons that need help, and does his best to help them. He hopes his mother would be proud.
