 “I am an adult! I’m just small!” Andesine often screams this at his clanmates who love to coddle the coatl since a strange occurrence around the time of his hatching has left him forever stuck as a hatchling. When he was still just a ball of potential excitement still sitting in his barnacle-encrusted egg, the coatl was being showered with gifts from all of his parents’ friends and relatives. Unfortunately, Andesine’s family is not well known for being Sornieth’s greatest bearers of gifts. One aunt came by to visit his nest carrying nothing, but a smile and herself. She said, “This one will surely be cute for his entire life,” congratulated the parents to be and went on her way. What no one knew at the time was that she had done more than make an assumption about the hatchling’s good looks, she had put a spell on him that would seal his fate forever.

The cream, cherub-marked coatl does not let his size and squeaky voice get in his way of growing up. He is always trying to do things like the other dragons his age because more than anything, he wants people to see past his adorable exterior and remember that he is, in fact, a dragon old enough to have his own hatchlings. Unfortunately, despite his best efforts, being so small makes it hard for him to do most things without appearing very clumsy. Andesine’s ambition is bigger than the spell put on him, though, and even though his clan mates have a hard time picturing him as anything other than a hatchling, they know that he will find something he is incredible at one day.
