I am also the record keeper of histories here and work closely with the archaeologists and historians of the kingdom to excavate and preserve the stories of those that came before Silkseas. "Where we stand right now is the Valle del Filo D'oro, or 'Valley of the Golden Thread'. The valley is named for the phenomenon that occurs just after sunrise, as the new sun of each day enters the center of the valley in a thin ray of light, widening throughout the morning, peaking at midday, and once more leaving as a thin ray of light in the evenings. Otherwise, Valle del Filo D'oro is a shallow basin between two hilly ridges on the outskirts of the Kingdom of Satiir Rho. One end of the valley is much narrower than the other, the wider end opening and flattening out until it meets some of the most scenic sea cliffs in the entire territory, beneath which are stunning white-sand beaches and azure waters. "Historically, Valle del Filo D’oro was the heart of Satiir Rho’s wine production. Many small farmers would share the valley and their land would butt up against each other, small competition throughout the kingdom. Over the years as Satiir Rho slowly faded away, families left, farmers passed, and time went on. In the modern day the entire valley is now taken care of by my husband and myself. We wish for all the ruins of the former farms to stand and try to preserve the names, stories, and heritage of each that can be found. The different sectors of our fields bear an identifying tag that contains the name of the family that used to live there and make their livelihood on grapes and wine. |
