you know...he's startin to grow on me
by: kyuubird (#348859)
beginning softly, tenderly like a bloom reaching into the heavens wanting only light and love and knowledge becoming stricken, tattered as the poison drips like tar over each petal doubt seeps into every vein like ink until hope is blotted out beneath every heavy word the lambskin splits in two from it comes claws and teeth a creature, a monster the very one they called him. - a lamb venturing into the world writes a story of transformation Poem by: chimmy #144090 - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - cover your eyes in charred blooms: if you can’t see them, they can’t see you. in mutual blindness and mutual curiosity, more than morbid who is the man with the many faces to be loved, to be feared, to be hidden he presents himself in his funeral shroud, adorned with a bloodied tie (a lie) oh, how thick the smell’s become a veil to a friendly conversation; a mention of no past, of no future, and a present that’s still in doubt let him ask you instead: what have i been, how did i become why do i go and when will i sate their unearthly curiosity Poem by: Limanya #141180 - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - tied to words unspoken a shambling body crying out, despair unbroken words of a man playing god bleed onto thin pages the files are ruined can he exist in this world? can he remain here, an imperfection of society like everyone else? questions, they remain. words unanswered, lost to time and rifts darkness shrouds those that tamper with fate. Story by: shadowforestdrag #431376 - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - he travels alone through the woods, down the path trees shifting, leaves shaking through the shadows Bitterness. they feared him Anger. they hated him He hated him and he'll never see him again. lyricalmyxteries #446462 - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Baited breath, cold as ice Stifled heart and clammy skin Hatred boils, no love can suffice Nor quell the growing rot within Petals curl and die in frost Withering and fading, falling away Is it too late? Will all be lost? The petals rot and fade to grey There is no shame in being alive At least that's what he tells himself But for now he struggles just to survive Hated; in a world all by himself Created and left, maybe to die? If so, then, what does his existence mean? The stars above alone hear him cry Hurt by words unsaid, things unseen Perhaps someday things will change Hands will reach instead of rend Skies will open and minds rearrange But hatred never seems to end Sky boils as the rain plummets down Droplets mingling with tears Misery and longing soaks the ground Perhaps one day he'll face his fears... by: dadminkestler (#453574) - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Settled comfortably in the swamps, the creature closed its eyes. This was a place where he’d be away from that awful master that brought him to life. That was the only good thing Victor ever did for him – give him life. What if he didn't even want to live it? The grouchy “Imperial" sighed and pulled out a book from the loose-fitting shirt he wore. Despite being a literal walking corpse, the creature had managed quite well with eating, drinking and maintaining everyday activities. The book was a bit soggy from skin sweat, but that hardly stopped him. He broke open thin parchment pages with his soft claws and picked up right where he left off. His eyes read and savored each word with fervor and passion. Reading had given him a sense of security and happiness, although he often longed for a partner with which to enjoy his hobby. With his other claw, he brushed away a lock of his swampy mane. His sensitive ears picked up the footsteps of a nearby traveler. Unsure what to do, the creature curled up and turned his back to where said traveler was going – just in case they spotted him and became panicky. Out here in the bogs of the Mire, the creature was well disguised and suited for life here. Many of the native Beastclan denizens had chosen to leave him alone, and travelers, although uncommon, mistook him for another part of the untraversible swamps. Curious but still nervous, the creature turned its disjointed head just a tiny bit to see who was coming. Based on the size of the steps, the visitor was most likely a Tundra. This was a bit confusing seeing as such a breed normally doesn’t travel by foot out in this part of Sornieth – their fur would be gunk-filled by this point. He thought nothing of it and turned back towards his book, leafing slowly and quietly through each page. On the other side of his personal swamp, a rose-colored Tundra padded along, not paying any mind to the creature within the swamp. He was mumbling to himself, in complete disbelief the Mire had any form of wooden material for him to work with. Through quiet, watchful eyes, the creature watched him walk. He wasn’t interested in conversing with the traveler, but such mumbling often provoked his curiosity. His loneliness would be a hard thing to pique given his real inability to reach out and talk to someone. That was the worst possible thing the lifegiver had done to him – rob him of the very thing that gave him freedom. Without a real voice, chances were low that the lonesome creature would befriend any form of companionship. Story by: shadowforestdrag #431376 |
