Biography

Happy
Clan Leader | Spiral | Male
Earth Runestone
Cheerful Chime
Wind Runestone

One might find it odd for the leader of a Wind Flight Clan to have been born of the Earth Flight, but those of Happy's clan do not think so. The clan lost its leaders years ago, as they, by their devotion to the Windsinger, left to go serve him and abandoned the others. While the clan was still in disarray, a young Earth Dragon, Happy, made his way from Dragonhome to the Windswept Plateau. Believing that clans should be strong, and revering tradition as earth dragons are wont to do, he was appalled at the state of this clan, and that its two founders would so quickly and thoughtlessly leave it behind. So he stepped in.

With his knowledge of strong clan foundations and his inherent charisma, he was able to unify the remaining members of the clan. Over the years since he has been the leader, many new dragons have flocked to this strange clan, and it has become more than just a Wind Clan - Happy is all to glad to welcome those from any flight, and the rest of the clan prospers because of his leadership.

After mating once with a lovely young spiral who did not decide to stay around in Happy's clan, the earth dragon has finally settled down with his lifelong mate, a nature dragon he fondly calls Trinket, after her tendency to collect such items. She does, however, spare a few for her mate - his favorite item, Cheerful Chimes. Though, whether or not these have always been a favorite, or have just been since his mate started giving them to him, is a secret that only he knows.

As for his own children, he encourages them to do as their heart desires, feeling that as a Clan Leader it is his responsibility to make sure all those of his clan are content with their chosen lives. But as all of his children have not striven to the same unity that he holds so dear, he is secretly upset that not even one of them has chosen to stay with he and their mother. He hopes that his children are happy, whatever their chosen path, but before they leave, he makes it clear to them that they can return to the nest at any time, since they are his hatchlings and he will never abandon them. Though none of the prodigals have yet returned, he hopes one day one will. He gives the same lecture to all hatchlings that leave the lair and, along with Trinket, believes that they are prospering out in the world, since his clan is so devoted to the nurturing of the young ones.

Happy believes strongly in doing good everywhere, but that does not mean he will not fight to protect the clan that once adopted him and that he is now the head of. With the two clan guards, Roland and Sawara, Happy will willingly go to the front lines of combat, using his earth abilities alongside their arcane and wind to keep the clan safe from danger. Still, he does not love fighting even though it is necessary, and any once-enemy who decides that they would rather move into the clan is welcome to be a familiar to one of the young dragons of the clan. As it is, perhaps Happy's generosity in welcoming strangers goes a bit too far - there are far more familiars in the clan than dragons! But as they help out here and there with little chores like food collecting, tidying, and even finding small bits of change and occasionally a treasure chest to gift to the clan, everyone is content enough with their menagerie of beasts and other pets.

Above all else, Happy believes strongly in loyalty. No matter where they have ended up, any dragon that was once a member of his clan is someone Happy will gladly bend over backwards to help. And as the clan sees many young dragons to new homes, this is quite a large number of hatchlings, as Happy so fondly calls them. Willing to do anything for others, he is a great and strong leader of the clan, and those of the clan trust him to never leave them.
