Argonia is the clan's founder and despite her long absence is still deferred to as its leader. The laws of the Draumer Den are few and flexible but Argonia is responsible for dealing with those few dragons who do manage to commit a crime. When a dragon is allowed entrance to the Den by Thebis their next stop is Argonia's office where they are thoroughly questioned. While the Den believes in a free existence Argonia makes it clear that it is not a freeloaders paradise and that those who do not pull their own weight will not survive. Her and Thebis’s combined presence ensures that all who join the Den not only approach with good intentions but are also brave enough to pursue a life for themselves in the Icefields. While not outwardly nurturing, Argonia is fiercely protective of her clan.

Argonia was hatched into a nomadic clan of Ice Mirror's known as the Chimeric. Per tradition, each Chimeric was destined to hunt and kill an old chimera of their choosing and wear its visage in order to gain its skill and spirit. After completing this rite of passage Argonia set out on her own as many of her clan did. She started as a working hand on a small hauling vessel and soon became the captain of her own scavenging ship. She made a profitable career out of scavenging sunken warships and occasionally pirating ships that sailed under banners of the Ice Flights enemies. When Thebis took her on as his charge he joined her and together they became notorious on the Icy sea. The vicious Mirror captain and her foreboding Guardian first mate. While out at sea during a violent storm Argonia’s ship picked up a survivor of a ship that had not fared as well. This stranger claimed to have been a prisoner aboard the ship who took his chance to escape in the storm. As thanks for his rescue, he rewarded Argonia with a treasure map he had stolen from the ship as he fled. Intrigued Argonia sailed to the nearest port and set off with Thebis and her crew in tow in search of this treasure. What they found was the Draumer Den, abandoned and void of treasure but well fortified. Seeing an opportunity Argonia decided to settle into the hollow of the mountain and make it a permanent lair. Thus the Draumer Den was born. Though it would be many years before it developed into the stable hub it is today. Mysteriously Aion himself disappeared shortly after Argonia's crew went ashore and only returned to join the Den as a member many years later.

If her reputation isn't enough to sway a dragon towards caution, her appearance will certainly finish the job. Argonia wears the headdress crafted from the pelt of a Chimera and its ribs adorn her chest armor. The rest of its bones hang from her wings rattling eerily as she moves. This, combined with the confident way she carries herself and her no-nonsense attitude, allows her to command authority over much larger dragons with ease.

No one would call Argonia motherly but she has her own discreet way of caring for her lair. This involves manipulating certain events within the lair indirectly. If Pashek needs a shipment of exotic ingredients the excursion team may find their next outing happens to pass through the exact location where those ingredients can be found. If Hubble needs a new lens for his telescope glass traders may suddenly start visiting the lair more frequently. Of the den’s many residents Argonia trusts only two implicitly. Thebis and one of the lair's oldest resident Tullius. She and Thebis share a long and tragic history, their first nest ruined by an illness that caused eggs to rot. Only a single egg survived and hatched into their only surviving child Theonia. The second nest was raided by a vicious pack of Nochny's and none of them survived. The heartbreak was simply too much for either of them to attempt a third. Instead, Argonia diverted all of her efforts to raising their daughter. When Theonia reached adulthood she left for her search which brought her into the service of the Icewarden. In the meanwhile Thebis discovered a hatchling Guardian wandering alone in the snow. He convinced Argonia to take him in and raised him as their own. After Abyssle had grown Argonia and Thebis received a letter from their daughter informing them that there would be war with the Fire flight and she was destined for the front. Distraut Argonia immediately set out to join her daughter in the Icewarden's forces with Thebis hot on her heels. They only returned when the war was over to see what had become of their lair

The Fortress of Ends Excavation

After learning of the foolish Imp who had caused so much trouble for her son and her home Argonia was fully prepared to rain her unbridled fury down upon Marco. But, after seeing him in such a dismal physical and emotional state and learning more about the situation, Argonia could think of no punishment worse than the one he had brought upon himself. Despite warnings from previously allied clans, Argonia refused to banish Marco from the Den. Insisting that to do so would 'spit in the face of her Abyssle's sacrifice and everything she wanted her clan to represent’. Needless to say, some of the Draumer Den’s previously allied clans have terminated their treaties. However, Argonia is not the least bit deterred. She's suffered setbacks before and knows better than most that reputations can be rebuilt with enough persistence and time.
