"If the question can be asked then the answer must exist. We simply need to discover it."

A librarian was not high on the list of careers the Draumer Den needed. Nor did Marco had any intention of filling the roll when he arrived at the Ice lair. But, after a botched expedition left the Imperial wounded and weak, tending to the Den’s neglected collection of tomes was all he could manage. Marco spends his days organizing the surprising about of scrolls and books that have been unceremoniously dumped in one of the Draumer Den’s back rooms over the years.

When Marco first arrived in the Draumer Den he had big ambitions for the lair, or more specifically, what lay beneath it. He had planned an expedition into the Fortress of Ends, hoping to pull old secrets and treasures from the Ice. The fact that the Den was right on the border of the Cloudscrape Craigs and the pillars of ice that made up the Fortress of Ends made it the perfect location to establish his dig sight. At first the other dragons approved of his dig and the wealth it might bring them. All that changed when Marco began discovering other dragons imprisoned in the Ice. After a number of them were set free the Den as a whole decided the expedition had to be shut down. The site was forcibly closed and Marco forbidden from freeing anything else. Defiant Marco began digging in secret, a choice that he would pay for dearly. During one of these unlawful digs Marco discovered a chest that, when opened, released a toxic gas. Marco survived the assault, but was gravely injured. The Den’s residents at the time believed that Marco had unleashed some sort of curse and that, if something was not done to appease the Icewarde, they would be next. A meeting was held to decide Marco’s fate, yet amazingly he was not banished from the lair or sent off to the Ice deity. Those that voted against him fled the lair in fear the curse would ensnare them if they remained. Too weak to leave on his own and unwilling to do nothing while he healed Marco took over organizing a proper library for the lair.

Massive, as most Imperial’s are Marco has always been on the thin side for an Imperial. His current condition has left him looking exceptionally gaunt. In an effort to speed up his recovery process and return some of his strength he wears enchanted bindings inscribed with glyph’s of healing. To cope with his blindness Marco was gifted a heavily modified Philosopher's veil by the clan. Originally intended to allow lifelong seekers of written knowledge to continue their studies even after becoming farsighted. This particular veil has been enhanced to allow Marco to see what's written both up close and at a distance. This way, in the library at least, he can navigate the negative spaces and pathways the many tomes and scrolls provide for him.

Marco has shut himself away from most of the members of the Draumer Den, old and new, out of shame. Tullius especially as he was the one to find Marco, nearly dead, at the dig sight. He finds Able, the clan’s healer, incredibly frustrating as the Tundra refuses to leave him be. Able holds Marco to a tight regimen consisting of bitter medicines and strenuous physical therapy. Initially Marco was very much an unwilling participant, believing he deserved his ailments as punishment for his foolishness but Able would hear none of it and persisted. Now Marco at least tolerates his treatments and even appreciates what Able means to accomplish with them. Which isn’t to say they don't bicker and banter with each other at every given opportunity. Imed is perhaps Marco’s closest friend, the quiet Skydancer shares an appreciation for discovery and lore even if they aren’t quite as passionate about it as Marco himself. A scribe themselves, Imed works closely with Marco in the Den’s Library and has made a special effort to make the Library even easier to navigate for the visually impared Imperial. They also take the time to escort Marco around the lair should he need it.

The Fortress Of Ends Expedition

The day the lair voted to close the Marco’s dig sight marked the beginning of the end but Marco refused to accept it. It wasn’t until after his injury when he was physically too weak to continue that he finally understood that his adventure had ended. If he had been able to leave on his own he certainly would have but at the time he could barely walk and was only recently blinded. He was at the mercy of the clan and there were those that would have gladly thrown him out in the snow. Thankfully warmer hearts prevailed and Marco was allowed to stay. Since he’d been allowed to remain, others felt they had to leave. Most left out of fear but a few simply couldn’t afford to stick around when the Den’s population dwindled. While Marco didn’t believe in superstitions and found the whole ordeal ridiculous, he couldn’t deny that his actions had had a negative impact on the Draumer Den as a whole. Publically he expresses bitterness about the whole ordeal but secretly he’s determined not to do any more harm to the Den’s reputation.

Above average length and wingspan, below average weight

Raised within the walls of the Runelight Hallow by scholars and adventurers alike it's no surprise that Marco has grown overly curious about the world beyond the stacks of books he grew up around. Nearly insufferable by the time he was an adult Marco was greatly encouraged to seek his own answers out in the world. A single tome depicting a frozen land, where treasure's and history lie forever frozen in Ice, were all the incentive needed to choose Marco's next destination. He would uncover all the secrets the Fortress of Ends had to offer. (Accidently deleted this guys lore :(, this will have to do for now)
