backstory
- works as a park ranger
- aspires to be a famous actor
- has lived a generally normal life.
- bullied his cousin lilani when they were kids over multiple things. the bullying still happens, albeit not as frequently as before. lilani has learned how to stand up to him with suki's help. she's capable of beating him up (and has thrown a few punches at him in self defense) though she isn't keen on doing so.
- don't believe maven when he monologues his sad backstory about whatever abuse or trauma he's been through. none of it is true. everyone in the clan knows that he's lying, so he only performs this act in front of people that have recently moved or are passing by. thanks to the numerous drama classes he's attended in the past, he takes his acting skills and uses them to manipulate people.
- he talks badly of his dads a lot, even though they've been nothing but supportive of him
- schemes about breaking suki and his cousin up so he could enlighten the barista and show her his ways

personality
- condescending. enjoys the thought of the world revolving around him
- pretentious dilweed who would buy deconstructed coffee
- provocative. chooses what is and what isn’t hurtful depending on how others react upon his actions

physique
- isn't strong, but he's agile. capable of running for long periods of time without collapsing from exhaustion
- doesn't have any powers despite everyone else in his family having hydrokinesis. he admits to being envious of his cousin for it
- owns a green scarf that his uncle made and wears it everywhere he goes. maven won't let anyone touch it

relationships
- wants to be with suki is jealous of lilani. suki's attractive, but she's so misguided. clearly, maven must show her how he sees the world and she Has to appreciate it. wants suki to kiss up to him
- nanuq's best friend. makes nanuq convince his family to not ban him from the shop. often gaslights him to get his way
- lilani's capable of beating him with only a few punches, but she chooses not to... unless he really gets on her nerves
- his dads don't understand why maven talks smack about them, when they've been supporting his endeavors
- bullies marquee. doesn't go for yin though

other
- intense hate for popular things has become, in suki's eyes at least, ridiculous
- afraid of fire and cannot take extremely high temperatures
