backstory
- role model amongst his peers in high school — he had straight a's, he actively participated in extracurricular activities, and was part of the student council. teachers enjoyed his studious nature, and many of students in his school couldn't help but envy him
- got job application at school and decided to go for it (it basically said "hey we're looking for young people to help us out on this project that are interested in science, especially biology."). he got the internship and found out his uncle's the leader of the whole thing (hooray for unintentional nepotism??)
- initially he was excited because hey, he got a headstart in his dream career. but it basically turned into a babysitting job

personality
- straight a student and good role model among his peers. studious, diligent, eager to help other students with classwork. parents compare their kids to him constantly, all "why can't you be like benji, jimmy? :/"
- selfish to an extent, can come off as very insensitive. he's also charismatic (or so he thinks), and many people that know him brush off his callousness because of this. he also uses his anxiety as an excuse to avoid listening to people's problems. he may be good at solving math or science problems but he's terrible at dealing with people's problems and he knows it
- attempts to justify his insensitivity and refusal to listen to others with excuses like they [the issues] don't seem important to him. the only times he makes some sort of effort to help people out are when 1) they're in actual danger, 2) helping them will make him look good in some way, or 3) the people in question are his family and boyfriends

physique
- cannot see without his glasses
- got hydrokinesis from his dad dante; inherited telekinesis from ruben. both hydro/telekinesis are relatively weak since he has parents with different magic
- voice claim is... either griffin mcelroy or gyro gearloose (specifically in the ducktales 2017 reboot)?
- power limits: he cannot lift or move stuff with his telekinesis if it's more than half his body weight. benji can only control liquids like water but not solids like ice or gases. he cannot freeze liquids or melt ice (he, for some reason, isn't interested in learning how to do so), but he has been trying to learn how to evaporate liquids. no one knows why he wants to learn just evaporation and not the other skills that can be used with hydrokinesis

relationships
- enjoys spending time with his boyfriends though he has difficulty balancing time with them and work
- doesn't mind his aunt and uncle, but he has mixed feelings about his little cousin. the intern appreciates that she likes his prescence, but he finds it a little annoying because she cries if he leaves her sight
- he's avoided some of his coworkers, namely carol
other
- has anxiety and adhd. he's "good" at not showing them to others.
- has a phobia of otters or any animals that look similar to them
- afraid of being stared at by large crowds. also gets anxious around small children, especially babies
- dislikes being pushed to the side or not being "useful" in some way
- isn't a picky eater at all. will eat anything as long as it's edible
- he'd eat bananas whole
