Biography

*Stormtalon wakes up in the middle of the night*
Stormtalon: My goodness it's hot tonight. I didn't think it could get this warm in the icefields.
*Stormtalon groggily wanders over to the thermometer*
Stormtalon: That's odd. It's colder than normal.
*Warmth suddenly shoots through her body.*
Stormtalon: Maybe I have a fever? These days I have been feeling a bit weak...
*Then, an orange fluffy object covers her vision. Stormtalon looks up and sees Fireheart sleeping on her head. The tundra glows glowing bright orange; embers dancing around him like fairies.*
Stormtalon: Ah. That explains it.

Matriarch. The Blizzard Born. Goldenstorm's crown. Frozen Hater. The queen of Goldenstorm goes by many names, but the name that she had been given fits her perfectly. Ex-general of Silverwind, Stormtalon gets her name by how she brings the storm onto the battlefield once she arrives. However, this did not last, as Silverwind was destroyed, the clan shattered, and the once-powerful general forced to flee with her mate. It's funny how she was able to rise out of the ashes (or snow) and become the proud queen of Goldenstorm.

Leading a clan is never easy. You've got to train the newbies, deal with the pranksters, and most importantly, decide what frosty treat the clan gets to eat for dessert. Snow cones, ice cream, popsicles, if you like chilly sweet things, she's got that in the bag. However, despite her difficulties, she somehow keeps it all together. She's been an amazing matriarch, and, despite hiccups here and there, she always seems to get everything back on track.

Stormtalon also has a reputation for keeping grudges. Rumor has it that she keeps a log of anyone who dares to mess with her. This might be true, because she once exacted revenge on Aldari SIX MONTHS after the nocturne froze radios playing Frozen songs into the ice all around the clan.

*Aldari is skimming over the lake, enjoying the day and most likely planning for her next big act*
*Stormtalon then flies over and smacks her into the freezing cold water*

Stormtalon: What's wrong Aldari? It's almost like you're struggling to stay afloat in the ice!
Aldari: *as she splashes to keep afloat* I suppose this is revenge, right? Now what did I do again? Release a pack of Grey River Flights into the clan? Replace the gold with dyed rocks?
Stormtalon: You froze radios all over the clan.
Aldari: Wha- THAT WAS SIX MONTHS AGO!
Stormtalon: Never forget.
Aldari: YEAH BUT-
*both of them freeze as they hear Sirene bellowing from the depths.*
Stormtalon: I recommend getting out of there. Like right now.

Oh yeah. I forgot to mention. She hates Frozen. Something about hatchlings singing "Let it Go" for a year ticked her off. Or maybe it was everyone called her Elsa for a week once the attraction came out? Whatever it did, it makes her snap once she hears the dreaded songs.

Stormtalon: ...Vulcan, set up the forges. Aldari-
Aldari: "Let it go, let it go-"
Stormtalon: Grabs Aldari by the wings, punts her across the sky
Aldari: You don't have to be so COLD about it!
Stormtalon: Aldari, don't-
Aldari: Just CHILL girl, you're so FROZENhearted sometimes.
Fireheart: Shots fired. World War Frozen has begun. Everyone take cover and hope that you won't die.

Here in the Southern Icefield, life is hard. There is winter for three-fourths of the entire year,
and for the final 3 months, it’s like autumn. Yet, we still find a way to live. Everyone in this clan, even though most of them are not considered among the better dragons in Sornieth, are strong, both in strength and in will. A few years ago, this place was a battlefield. Now, it’s a clan. A clan of, well, somewhat unified dragons. My name is Stormtalon, and welcome to Goldenstorm.

1 year before clan formation…

The sounds of war ringed in my ears as I flew over the battlefield. Heaving heavily and filled
with scars, Fireheart suddenly spiraled down from the sky, diving headfirst into the pack of Serethis, his flaming body illuminating through the winter wind. I followed him, blood pumping in my head, and slammed my large bulk towards the left flank.

“SILVERTEETH, TO ME!”

Our clan turned towards Silverwind, the Wildclaw, and I, nodding to Fireheart, fought out
towards our king, rallying towards the snowy banner. We all flanked his side, and, almost as soon as we did, they suddenly charged towards us. As one.

Funny creatures, these Serethis. Half snake, half human. A few years ago, they were at the
boarder of the Starfall Isles, but then, something sparked. They started swarming as one towards the banks of the Arcane shores, tearing through the different clans dotted around the rim. Knowing that they would become a threat, our clan, the Silverteeth, formed an alliance with the Auroaris, which was the most powerful Arcane clan in its time, to fight against the common incoming threat. This alliance was strained, to say the least, as we had different views about how we should react, and our leaders often fought, though the skirmishes ended quickly.

But not today.

To our surprise, the Arcane clan suddenly turned. Noxius, the leader, barreled
towards us, his small fae wings beating like the wind as he twisted and turned through the battlefield, fanged bared and blade drawn. A fellow Silvertooth, a young teenage skydancer, turned towards him, and offered a light smile. Suddenly, there was a flash of red. Seconds later, the skydancer lay on the battlefield, the light fading from her eyes. Noxius however, showed no intent of stopping.

Silverwind turned the purple fae. “What is the meaning of this?”

Noxius hovered in the air, and raised his hand. The Serethis stopped advancing and turned
towards the fae.

Noxius smiled, his eyes glistening maliciously in the light. “I’m afraid the tides have turned,
my dear “friend.” A hiss escaped the edge of his lips, lips that curled into a malicious gin. “Sadly, I had no intent in fighting with you fellow ice kin. There will be only one ruling deity in the end, though he is not of the gods of this world.” Noxius slowly rose his sword. Pulsing dark liquid rippled beneath his skin, and his eyes turned pitch black. “I have only chosen the side of the victor.”

“TRAITOR!” The king roared, rage coursing through every letter.

I glanced towards Fireheart. He warily glanced back, realizing the situation at hand.

“Stay. Behind. Me.”

“Fireheart, I’m the general. You stay behind me, and we’re getting out of this like we always
have. Together.”

“Well I don’t think we’re backing out of this one…” The tundra looked onwards as magic slowly
coursed through his veins, ice blue breath swirling around him.

We looked back as Noxius smiled deviously, the blood shining on his blade.

“If you will not join me, then you must perish.” The fae roared, spitting out dark slime.“Cut.
Them. Down.”

The purple and black-eyed dragons lunged towards us, swiftly followed by the swarm of Serethis.
I looked towards my kin, fear hovering above them like it never had before. You have to keep it together. You must. For the clan. For our survival.

“RALLY TO THE KING!”

I tore between the ranks of warriors, slashing and hacking through the waves upon waves of
dragon and snake fiends. Fireheart flew up into the sky and with the fellow mages, raining bolts of elemental energies through the foes below, decimating down waves upon waves of incoming Serethis.

Looking onwards, I saw Silverwind fighting like the mad dragon that he was,
making up for technique with brute force. Noxius weaved through the wildclaw's swings and the occasional eliminates as he quickly landed successive slashes upon slashes on the king’s crystal skin.

Suddenly, an explosion filled the air. Out of the corner of my eye I saw the flaming tundra
fall out of the sky and smash into the frigid snow. The orange glow of his fur slowly dimmed as Serethis and dragons began to cover his body.

“STORMTALON!”

Glancing back, Silverwind limped away from the fight as other fellow Silverteeth hurled
themselves hopelessly towards the fae, falling one by one. Noxius, on the other hand, glowed with a dark aura. Occasionally, black wisps darted out from his body into other dragons. Once the dark essence touched them, their eyes became soulless, and one by one they joined the turned fae, mercilessly fighting at his side. Silverwind looked into my eyes.

“Defend me!”

I looked back towards Fireheart. Icicles erupted from the mound and hurled towards
incoming Serethis, but they quickly covered him with a blanket of scales, blades, and teeth.

“Stormtalon!" The wildclaw stammered, blood leaking from his mouth. "That is an order!”

Silverwind backed towards me as the fae slowly hovered over, bodies of the fallen littered on the
ground.

Hearing a pained roar, I turned back to Fireheart as he disappeared under the writhing
beast clan.

I made my decision.

Taking off into the air, I let out a primal cry, and launched myself towards the serpents,
landing above the bloody tundra. One by one, I ripped off the Serethis from his body and let out a bellow that shook the earth.

“Stormtalon? Stormtalon! Help me!”

Cradling his battered body in my claws, I took off into the sky, bolts of magic and arrows
raining behind me.

“STORMTALON…”

Silverwind’s cry slowly faded away into the mist, but I dared not look back. The guardian
that had had her entire life laid ahead of her was shattered. She had left her clan behind to die, and her king under the mercy of a merciless madman. But if she left her mate to die, she would never forgive herself.

Once the rings of battle had faded from our ears, I found a cave large enough to fill the both
of us. The snowflakes landed on the ground, covering my footprints almost instantly. Using the leftover branches, I set the wood aflame, and nursed the tundra. Filled with gashes, blood had turned his lush orange fur into a crimson mess. His wings were torn, and his right eye was swollen shut. A tear rolled down the side of my cheek. Rise, Fireheart. Rise.

Suddenly, a faint glow in the distance started to get brighter. No. Not brighter. Closer.
Heavily wounded but still strong-willed, I staggered myself upwards and prepared for my last stand. If I was to die, I would not fall so easily.

However, it wasn’t an army. Not was it an assassin. Or a dragon, for that matter.

It was human.

It was obviously a male. Wearing a light blue tunic, it was odd that he was able to
walk though the blizzard without getting frostbitten. A scarf was wrapped around his mouth, and two blades were slung on his back. He held a torch tipped with a magical flame, which glowed brightly despite the sheer cold.

“How ya doin’, miss? If you want to kill me, now’s the time. But your mate’s injured,
and I don’t want injured couple blood on my hands." Seemingly with no fear at all, he nodded to Fireheart, who, barely breathing, fluttered his eyes open to witness the commotion. "Now, come with me if you want to live.” He stopped. “Actually, hold that thought. You’ll probably die from blood loss. Wait here. I’ll get my medical bag.”
