Biography
By the wonderful Saurgazing/Naty ^^
The twins were given eyes like stars, multi-faceted like diamonds. Brother and sister, connected in that they shared the fate of never being truly a part of the material world, living in it and interacting with beings completely caught in it, but able to see the vastness of the world hidden beneath a layer of the seemingly mundane. They were thoughtful, often lost in their visions, detached and painfully aware of the fragility of that which all other dragons knew and took for granted. Especially the brother, for he could not only gaze into dimensions as if they were in plain sight, but also sense the powerful magical energies that permeated the realm, and the unsettling, alien nature of the cosmic currents beyond Sornieth. It really made him question the reason behind existance, painfully aware of the insignificance of not just the dragons, but their entire world. Petty wars seemed senseless to him, didn't they know how little it mattered? They could be wiped out at any moment by the all-devouring, eye-searing blackness between the stars, the same acute magic deprivation as in Hewn City, but far, far more dangerous, as there would be nowhere to run to, and nothing would escape it's maw?
"How could a dragon, who saw the endless, marvelous infinity of the cosmos every minute of every day, feel so completely and utterly alone?"
ought to find the right person, someone imaginative and nerdy and just like him in ways, and realize that he, though he is exceptional in many ways, and will never be normal, has some very, utterly human (well, draconic) desires and needs that he needs to fulfill in order to feel whole and happy. Despite it all, he's still a dragon, still a mortal, and he has needs, emotional, mental and physical, of a dragon. He's not some channel for the infinity of the cosmos, not some otherworldly, emotionless, immortal being who'd be perfectly content floating in midst of everything and nothingness for eternity, taking in and comprehending and observing forever.
While awake, they are Basirah and Cosmo; covetous and generous, night and day, ruthless and gentle, nemesis and anathema to one another; the Sight Thief and the Starlit Seer.
But when they sleep, the galactic beings that slumber in their bodies; the true source of their unusual powers, awaken and drift out of the unconscious forms, oblivious to the bitter rivalry of their draconic vessels, and meet one another under the night sky; playing and soaring beside one another, genießen the presence and reunion with one of their own kind. They are Nyx and Helios, the Far-born, the cosmic spirits of the reaches of space as-of-yet unconquered by the Shade. They are dawn and dusk, respectively; though their influence bleeds over into Basirah and Cosmo so much that some dragons have begun calling them by those bynames while awake.
(These are Nyctos and Nykara; Helios and Delia)
